I'm still in Rhodes, chapter 3. Just spent all morning doing the carvings thing. Took me all around the mountains. Was a real adventure. I actually felt a pang of homesickness for the camp and excitement when I was almost back there.

Picked up a perfect bear pelt on the way and at one stage passed some woman claiming to have broken her leg. I would have given her a lift if not for the bear pelt so instead I gave her some shit and rode off. Right decision as it turns out as she spat it and came after me with her two mates that were hiding in the bushes ready to pounce on me. They all got a facefull of lead from mah 12 gauge pump but of course there's a ****ing witness and all of a sudden I'M the bad guy. It was self-defence!! So killed that witness.. in front of another witness.. then had to kill that witness. Before you know it there's a trail of corpses a coupla miles long and I've got a $50 bounty on my head. It's amazing how things escalate from not giving someone a ride.

Gonna boot it up soon and do some hunting. I think I need to be much more patient though. I've not been able to craft any upgrades with Pearson because I've not been able to actually get the things that are required IE perfect pelts. It's so tedious though.

Chapter 3, is there a way to find out how many hours you've played?

From what I can see no. I was looking for the whole people robbed, people killed, animals killed, hours played etc etc like GTA, and it doesn't seem to exist, which is strange. Unless someone on here can tell me how?

Bought a new horse, named him John.

Shaved off the sideburns, and put pomade in my hair. Now Arthur looks like Jeff Bridges in True Grit.

Bagged my first legendary animal - the coyote. Did not realise you didn't have to 'perfect pelt' them. Spent 20 minutes chasing it in circles trying to shoot it in the head. I like that hunting can just be you crouched down, sipping whiskey to fill up your dead eye so you can keep tracking animal that's essentially walking in a scripted circle.

spent two hours looking for a legendary elk in the top left hand corner of the map...

turns out I was reading a RDR 1 map; no wonder I was confused.

that'll teach me to drink and cheat at the same time.

What have you found are the best weapons? I have $850, so I am looking to upgrade.

Do you recommend upgrading a horse too? I don't think I have access to good ones yet, though.

I spent almost all my money on a thoroughbred and honestly it probably wasn't worth it but I couldn't find anything else to spend my money on so I don't regret it. Will only catch wild horses from now on though.

Guns are all very similar to me. It's very hard to die in a gunfight, or I find that to be the case. So I don't notice a difference betwee each gun. I just did a chapter 3 mission with Lenny though and unlocked a Bolt Action rifle, and that's a pretty nice gun (it's probs better for hunting than gun fights although I did use it on a couple of people trying to hold me up and it seemed to one-shot kill all of them).

Went drinking with Lenny, lost my hat and it's not on my horse.
Took a train down to Saint Denis looked around now I'm going for a ride

What guns do people recommend?
All of them.

I couldn't find anything else to spend my money on
Same here. I wasn't interested in any of the cheats and wasn't wanting for money at any stage. Struggling to find things to spend it on now. This game isn't GTA. It's not about money and buying things. It's about the experience which has been priceless. What a time to be alive.

I do wish there was a roll button....
I hear you but did they even have combat rolls in 1895? :D
