Or those stranger missions just repeat themselves.

I've run into two different strangers whose horse died and they needed a ride somewhere.

Tangentially related, but I've yet to see a female NPC riding a horse, only those stranger missions where they've fallen off. No female O'Driscolls from memory either. They're might not be a lot of women gunslingers but you'd expect find one or two.

I've done a few similar escort / travel missions like this, although I think it actually was a bug. I don't think she had two horses named Biscuit who both died when she was out riding them.

I have officially come to the conclusion that Arthur Morgan is a terrible character. I didn't want to admit it - I tried to give him a chance but nope, he's very ordinary and couldn't care about him.

(Opinion not based on a story-event, so don't worry about some upcoming bad spoiler. It's an accumulation of things from the start of the game to where I'm up to now in Chapter 5)

Made it to chapter 3

St denis trip ....the graphics are amazing in St Denis and the sound effects of the horses on cobblestones was so realistic.

My plan is to play the game as a nice guy ..to the finish ..kill only when necessary

My shooting has improved

Then restart the game and literally be the baddest guy ever ....I’ll rib and kill every single person I see

This game has replay value for sure

So I arrive at chapter 3 and my fav horse is gone. I’m going to head to the outer stables to see if it’s there tomorrow, the horse I had was fast

I liked how you kept the camp upgrades like fast travel ...I haven’t dine a lot of hunting but will chapter 3.

Nah ...I love him

I tried to since he's our vessel but just can't. He's written so inconsistently when it comes to his opinions and actions - can't take him seriously or care for someone like that. I prefer some of the supporting characters by a mile.

Hmmm what’s he so inconsistent about

He’s a cowboy

His views on things are just inconsistent - his lifestyle, the deaths connected to him and the violence he causes specifically. His actions towards people and the handling of two similar situations seem stupid / don't make sense either. Off the top of my head, he completely undermines a few people at the camp - who are meant to essentially be his second family who he is literally living to protect, although meanwhile he travels all over the place to save some random photographer who he treats like an actual baby for nothing.

Seems very apt for RDR2.
All im thinking during poker games

I robbed the shady practice at the back of the doctors joint and shit went down which is why it got jacked up so much.

Anyone chatted to the sheriff in Valentine to do Bounty Hunter missions?

Additionally, is there a specific horse people advise to use/get? I'm on a shire atm, and for the life of me I cannot see its stats improving despite patting/feeding/brushing/calming it constantly. Or is increasing stats a very slow process?
Does covering your face with the Mask negate the likely hood of people in Valentine recognising you and getting the Police?

When you say Terrible, is that in regards to him being an interesting protagonist, a la CJ or John Marston (wont keep comparing him to the original, but it's hard not to). Makes you not want to come back an revisit RDR2, an as you said couldn't care about the guy

I don’t think Arthur Morgan is a terrible character. He’s a cowboy with complexity. People in real life are inconsistent. John Marston was consistent in RDR1 but he was a bit simple, albeit endearing in his focus and will. Morgan is a middle aged crim unsure of his life choices. That’s how I see him, anyway.

Yeah worst thing for mine is the slow walking in camps. I think it is such a stupid idea that we can’t run in them. Not sure why they decided to restrict the players movements. Makes no sense and ruins gameplay.

Was wondering what everyone was talking about in regards to accidentally shooting people, but then whilst on a busy street in St Denis I pressed triangle to get on my horse, and instead started choking some woman who had walked in the way. Not ideal.
Worse still she called you daddy and said don’t stop?

One of my gripes is that the game sometimes forces you to take missions. It’s happened twice to me and both times involved Dutch, and both times I just wanted to trudge around camp interacting with gang members and doing chores. It sounds trivial but it’s actually really ****ing annoying.

Not sure. I paid the bounty anyway just to make life easier.

Thats a shame. Is there a reverse of that? As in one I can only get at full bad honour?[/QUOTE

Not sure, I missed a mission in cha
Words of advice, DO NOT RUSH THROUGH THE STORY like I did... when you finish the game some stranger missions and random events lock themselves meaning I cant get 100% completion. I might restart and take my sweet time...

I missed a mission in Chapter 2, Contemplating starting again before I get any further into the game

I'm not buying fast travel I don't think. I mean sure it would let me do more missions and stuff and I don't get a ton of time to game these days so it would probably be smart.

But I prefer not to teleport around the place in this game, that may change after I log a few more hours in the saddle, we shall see
I’m the same I love riding around and I’m worried I’d miss out on random shit happening which is my favourite part of the game.

I love Arthur but my only gripe with the game is the way John is portrayed. Arthur calling him dumb all the time is annoying me.

Playing last night, just outside of Saint Denis found a small shack, decided to go inside and have a look, there was a guy in there, accidently pulled my gun out, he freaked, and so I just thought “oh well I’ll just tell him he’s getting robbed”, so I did that, and all I got was 97c!!!!

As he ran off I went after him and hogtied him, picked him up and dumped him right in front of a nearby swamp where a croc had some fun.

My guess is they want you to interact with the gang and get to know the characters. Maybe they think walking will make you take the time to talk to them.
I agree it is frustrating though.

Yeah I agree, I sorta like the realism of it that Dutch saw me and grabbed me straight away but I was on my way to do a side mission and ride around for a bit and the Dutch mission ended up being a really important game changing one I wasn't ready to do

This is my thought, it allows the camp people to catch up and talk to you and give you tasks

I still haven’t got the hang of the controls. Caught up to a dude on a horse with a woman tied up on the back that he kidnapped. I shot him, took her off the horse and instead of cutting her ties I accidentally stomped on her head. Of course what I thought was the middle of no where actually turned out to be a thoroughfare with a hundred witnesses suddenly turning up that I had to deal with.

It kind of resembled this. But with guns. And killing.
