Playing last night, just outside of Saint Denis found a small shack, decided to go inside and have a look, there was a guy in there, accidently pulled my gun out, he freaked, and so I just thought “oh well I’ll just tell him he’s getting robbed”, so I did that, and all I got was 97c!!!!

As he ran off I went after him and hogtied him, picked him up and dumped him right in front of a nearby swamp where a croc had some fun.

I wondered about feeding people to the alligators

Got stuck keeping locals out of a graveyard while a debtor collected his debt from a grave. Two hillbillies wouldn't leave so I one-punched one and then, sorta, kinda, accidentally chocked the other guy to death (I was trying to grapple him so I could punch him easier). Anyway, he dropped a nice hat that isn't sold in stores. I couldn't save it so I thought I'll wear it until I lose it.

Lost it ten minutes later blowing myself up with dynamite. Oh well.

Got into a shootout with the Cornwall men as part of a mission a little later (knifing people in a gunfight is just so much fun, Arthur stabbed some dude through the chin). As usual, however, there was a witness -- there's always a witness after a mission, gives you no time to loot. I stood firm though, tried to find the body of the dude I threw my only tomahawk in to, needed to collect it back. Took too long and had to escape back into the woods to lose all the bounty hunters and lawmen (was almost like repeating the mission in reverse). Took a brief moment before hightailing to state lines though to shoot one of the lawmen so I could steal his precious white hat. Never gonna take this hat off. Need more tomahawks though.

I've already killed it, though I died when it was on my horseback.

I believe I still have the antlers in my satchel. I can't remember if the pelt remains.

A great demonstration by one of the best TV reviewers on youtube outside of RTings if anyone is interested in tech. On an LED I personally still prefer HDR on than off because while it does raise the blacks I prefer the clarity of the dark scenes like at night time. I’m going to switch my TVs around again on the weekend though (missus won’t notice) so I’ll try SDR on the OLED as it will be brighter than the LED anyway.



Taking nothing away from the game itself I’m going to be that one guy to make a critical comment and that is GTA V was a greater technical achievement on PS3/360 than RDR2 is on current gen. GTA V pushed the hardware, across completely incompatible architectures, and achieved a result in a way only exclusive titles could that were optimised to the target platform from the start. This time around RDR2 was built on hardware using the same architecture as their target platforms and to be brutally honest it only really shines on a single platform (the latest and most powerful). The rest are rather poorly optimised. The Xbox One X gets a native 4K obviously because it can drive it so it doesn’t take the performance hit from requiring AA, but instead of properly optimising the PS4 Pro version they just upscale and apply what looks like brutal TXAA and it still can’t hold a stable 30fps. If it could then I wouldn’t get what seems like a 3:2 pulldown judder when running game motion plus on my Samsung. Starting to rant now, but this HDR issue IMO goes to show that there wasn’t as much emphasis on the technical development as on the actual game itself.

I used to care about this stuff, lol. I run my RDR2 on a PS4Pro (GoW version FTW) and 1080p on my 70” Sony tv and it’s beautiful. I don’t feel I need 4K... yet

Look in your map, the list of places/vendors might be easier to find. I think he unlocks after the legendary bear hunt mission which I assume you did, don’t have to kill it.

You don’t sell the antlers to the Fence, he’ll just craft them for you.

Was robbing a train last night on the bridge where the law can't get you, i got a damn good load from it also, called for my horse to meet me at the end of the bridge so we could ride off into the sunset but it decided to jump off the damn bridge and kill itself while i had a $300 bounty on me. I had to try run away while carrying the saddle so i died.

PS4 Pro ‘enhanced’ games often offer a performance or quality option. Sadly this one doesn’t otherwise I’d take it and I would be looking at what you are. The PS4 can detect the display and without giving us the choice the game is choosing automatically. Given the attention this is getting now I wouldn’t be surprised that instead of fixing it they will just implement the option. I’d rather take a clean 1080p and let my TV handle the upscale (this mode looked fantastic on God of War).

The game is fantastic and despite noticing the brutal temporal anti aliasing from the second I booted it up I didn’t want to raise it to detract in anyway from the game. Now that a week has gone by I think it’s time to bitch. Rockstar have really ballsed up the checkerboard rendering technique that HZD and GoW had no issue with and to cover their tracks they just went overkill with the AA. The fact that they didn’t even properly implement HDR tells me they had tech development issues all round. Probably something in those reported long hours and in the end many corners were cut. If I wasn’t planning to play online with a bunch of family and friends I think I would have canned it for the One X version.

I’m still rolling with a tv two years old Samsung series 6 ..it upscales to 4K also

I’m not a nerd ....but the picture is gorgoues so I’m all good

Going to upgrade soon to a PS4 pro soon ....got 300 in my PayPal saved so close to it

Probably not. I'm not in any rush to complete the game, just want to be able to play regularly enough that I don't forget what I'm doing.
