Has anybody else had a chance to have a look at this on its limited cinema release? I saw it at Dendy last week and was surprised at how enjoable it was. It's about 3 teenage boys answering a web ad for a 4some. Upon arriving for the promised 4some they are drugged and taken back to the church/compound of the 5 Points. 5 Points are loosely based on the Westborough Baptist Church. An amazing Michael Parks delivers an oscar nomination worthy performance as the preacher, again based Fred Phelps.

Unlike anything that Smith has done before although his humour does creep through occassionally. Released by his own studio that he has set-up so he is going back to his Indie roots to some extent. Only cost about $4 million to make but he has gotten every dollar of value out it.

I'm an unabashed fan of Smith but even if you don't like his previous stuff you shouldn't let that deter from giving this a view, even if it on DVD later on.

Watched it the other week. Didnt really know anything about it or who it was directed by. Was a good movie, pretty funny in bits and the storyline moved along ok.

Wasnt surprised it was a Smith movie in the end, has some of his trademarks. Supposedly loosely based on some cult and you see how messed up these people are.

6.5/10

I really want to see this movie, if only for the John Goodman performance. I love everything that guy is in.

Margaret gave it 3 and a half stars while David only gave it a 2. That's a bit disappointing.

Any signs of Jay, Silent Bob of Ben Afleck?
Jokes.
I'll go see this in due course.

Thought it was a bit of a let down too. Dragged in places as has already been mentioned. Was more political than I would have liked too, I was more in the mood for just a genuine slasher movie when I sat down to watch it.

Dogma(Way better movie) fans will most likely be disappointed.

David and Marg get it right most of the time, like this one.

As mentioned the Red State lead role is a cracker.
Goodman is ok.
