Final over was simply sensational.

Well done Redbacks. :thumbsu:

Being the best side for the entire years, allows a tie to be enought. Well done lads.

credit where credit is due - I went to bed thinking there was no way they could win - and they didn't :o

But what a fantastic comeback. Gary Putland went from the doghouse to the penthouse in about 20 minutes.

Enjoy it boys. Maybe they can wear red shirts in the Shield next year?

Was fantastic to be there after I missed the shield win in 95-96.

Putland was tremendous and the fielding by Lyon Klinger Harris and Crossthwaite was outstanding.

George Bailey all class as well.

Great game of cricket.

WE will get smashed in the four day game though.

thread should be closed now, they aren't the most embarassing side in history anymore

Nah, just rename the thread to include the words "Sheffield Shield".

Having said that, helluva win.

Remember the 1997 Crows side and many other young developing teams have had growing pains leading up to success.

I think we will see a remarkable improvement next year but we will also see a few very poor days. It's just the good days will start to outnumber the poor days from now own.

They have to start believing. :thumbsu:

alex - I admire your optimism but they really are ****

No they are not.

2 trophies in 2 years and they are slowly getting better with the length of the game. Confidence in sport is a very funny things.

Good to see Head and Stray both make 90s in the 2nd dig, and even scores in the 20s in the first innings debacle. Well done Klinger too with a 50 and double century.

The SACA have hit a new low by replacing Klinger as captain with South African chucker Johan Botha  :o

Botha is a really good pick up, but we should have kept Klinger as captain. We saw last year with Adelaide United Jon McKain coming into a new club with international experience and huge reputation being made captain.

We've had another shocking Sheffield Shield season but we should support Klinger and bring better players around him.

Something had to change, we've collected three spoons under his captaincy. A great cricketer he is but leading by example isn't as good as a inspiring leader. Hopefully with the burden of leadership off him he'll be free to really plunder some runs :)

Must have been a hard pill to swallow but it is a positive decision by the Redbacks
