Conca, was good again tonight although, unlike David King, I do not think it was his best game for us tonight considered a better game he had for us earlier in the season.

His bump to win the ball back in the last qtr in the goal square was very telling, as is his physical aggression generally and something we have lacked in defence at times.

He knocked the ball away in a marking contest earlier using his leap which was important and his speed and improved confidence is definitely providing more starch into our defence which is a godsend helping the likes of Rance tighten things up.

His kicking is improving with more continuity to which is pleasing. I am really glad he seems to be seizing his opportunity in defence and proving such a valuable contributor!!

I like how he is willing to get dirty competing in contested ball like some others lack. Markov and Conca at times did really well shutting down Melbournes forwards and at the very least being a bloody nuisance and terrific disrupters!

I have been a massive critic of the #6 selection of Reece Conca as well as his physical presentation for an athlete in past years as well as his un games man like efforts during his career ,But the 2017 version of Reece Conca has been excellent in the role he has played and the level of his performances thus far.

Would love to see him in the midfield rotations. Tough old fashioned defender - once the ball hits the deck - you know he will be the extractor. His decision making and even those short kicks under pressure have been a hallmark. Glad to see his recovery and emergence since that Norf Final.
