A day late because I was away from the computer studying, but still - in remembrance of the Tigers players who fought and died for us, as fans and Australians. Thanks from a younger generation. Lest we forget.

And none better than the mighty Bill Cosgrove, who with 13 others escaped Java (that had been overtaken by the Japs) in a lifeboat traveling 1500 miles in 44 days to Australia.

But he was a typical smart Aussie and managed to find a thousand cans of beer for the trip. :thumbsu:

Always remembered for the Tiger caricature on his planes fuselage with the words “Eat Em Alive” on one side and “Up There Jackie Dyer” on the other.

A great Tiger, and Aussie.

Sad, he was shot down and killed in 1943.

[edit- 30 escaped, but 14 were in his lifeboat]
