The postmortems from the game have been done to death i suppose. have just got back from the melb town was at theh game and had great seats on second level - trip booked well in advance.

beside playing with no grunt, passion etc etc. it was apparent the dockers have no visible plan to move the ball forward with purpose usually running into dead ends. the continual need to handball to players standing still is bewildering and there is no"run and carry the ball" to penetrate well into the
50m. Harvey needs to settle on his current best 5-6 midfielders and just leave them gell

we need a a very simple game plan that utilizes what talent and skill we have in the side. Just watch RD 22 2008 Mark, no pav, haze, bell, macca, Solly, it was Gutsy, hard and yes it was scrappy but Mark we won against a side touted to finish TOP Four!!

I thought we looked okay late in 2008 remembering Pavlich missed 2-3 games as well. we had Kiwi charging out from full forward and we had goers in the midfield ie Rhys, ibbo , mayne(what a loss he's been)

Too much is being made of rhys' disposal. he won the NAB RS because he was a ball magnet. Mainwaring couldn't hit the side of a barn on most days but he was revered as a hard ball winner.

Also too much is made of playing young players - my count there was hill, suban, plamer and maybe ibbo & head. the rest have been on a list for at least 5 years- There doesn't appear to be much upside in a lot of our players.

That said was impressed with hill & suban kept at it all game.

agree :thumbsu:, enough with the experiments, they're obviously not working. We need a core group of midfielders to build the team around.

it's disappointing that our hardest running players are our newest, some of the senior players could learn from them.

the amount of times where it was 3 or 4 saints players with Hill the only one chasing...:(
