With the derby this week Fremantle can not afford to lose key players because of reports. The radio reported Headland had been booked twice yet is there any other player who may go up due to the brawl?

Didn't have the best view from my seats.

It was for either charging or rough play in the 2nd quarter. It was after a Richmond player had taken a mark and he just ran through him. If they are consistent he will get a week.

Looked fair to me. The whistle hadnt gone, his elbow was in, the richmond player (imo) was playing on, and ran into him.

You have to be joking mate. The Richmond player had not played on. Headland's feet left the ground. He got him high. It was reported on the spot. He is gone.

Didnt notice any replays at the game. Just going on what I saw. I sit on that wing.

No doubt we will see it over and over.

Did Black get reported ? Looked like he landed a good left to who ever was tagging him as he was going to the bench .

So what if he gets scrubbed for a game or two? He needs to lose that soft image that has been haunting him for so long. Good on him!

I saw the replay this morning. The commentators thought Black threw a punch but the emergency umpire was only a couple of metres away from the incident and he didn't report him. Based on that I think he is safe.

I was at the game, and feel Dessie will definitely be gone. :( But, gee, up until that moment we were really flat. We looked much more fired up after the "charging" incident.

It had to happen sometime and DJ did this for the sake of the team. We have been a very disciplined team over the last two years in regard to suspensions. I will stand corrected, but I can't remember any player losing a game through a H & A report in those 2 years. There was the pre-season one where Cookie got that joke suspension, and that's all I think.

The striking report might not stick.

My gut feeling is at this time of the season the hard play is often overlooked as long it no one was hurt.

Possible Reprimand for Des ?

How about Pickett's bump. Same as Dessies but different.
Whatever Des gets Picket will double.

The bump is fine. Its not as if the player was stationary. He was coming towards Headland as fast as Headland was heading towards him. Plus he wasn't hurt. He fained being hurt if you watch the replay. Had his head up. then put it down. Then straight back up when the whistle went.

Campbell threw Headland to the floor after that. If it was Farmer the free would of been reversed (reminded me of the Michael Johnson mark in the forward 50). There seems to be no footage of the swing at Campbell. If the incident goes anything like Tarrants he'll probably get a week or a melee charge.

I personally think a Melee charge would be the correct decision.

If the "punch" on Campbell was the incident they highlighted on ABC TV tonight, then the striking charge will be withdrawn tomorrow. Headland appeared to grab Campbell around the shoulders rather than throw one.
Very interesting case as far as the charging goes. Definitely late but not head high. It's anyone's guess what the match review committee/tribunal will do.

You guys are all pretty optimistic. I hope you're right. I just have a feeling he will get something for the bump. Looked just a bit too late to me. I'm not sure how Dessie will fare regarding early pleas, priors etc.

Does he have a previous tribunal record?

I'm sure the post match interview (i think with Tiff Cherry) said asked him what it felt like to be reported twice after never been reported before.

I only noticed the bump incident and was hard to tell if there was high contact from the couple of quick replays. If there was you would expect him to get a week going on what we have seen this year.

Early discount for guilty plea might get him off with just repremand if his previous record is good though.

I may be totally wrong though because dont fully understand the new system
