Looking at the team lineup the ressies are starting to pack in the talent with all our players coming back from injury.

Bodes well for pressure on senior spots.

Hey Yall

Well where to start another nice win by the boys and some impressive work by the boys
How ever we did miss a few set shots but happy with everything

Im not going to write a full report as im a little tired but ill tell you who was super impressive

NATHAN GORDON: kick at least 5+ goals and worked himself all over the ground he deserves a call up next week the kid is so talented i just loved his game and i had a lovely chat with his dad who said this was the best game he has seen him play my BOG

Pyke and lou did well in their 1st game back how ever both came off for the last quarter

Rohan is gaining confidence and looking fitter and faster

Lamb really got into the game and kicked 3 goals in the space of 10 minutes will need the rest of the ressies season to get himself going but looks good

TDL was also impressive again kicking a bag works well as a small crumber often scooping the ball up to run on and kick the goal but hes between seniors and ressies could get a recall

Maxy Otten also sneaking under the radar another preseason would be good for him

Jesse rucked a lot more than pyke and was effective around the groud didnt kick any goals when he was in the forward line from memory

Moore is so classy he should be playing seniors took an exciting mark over the bacl of a tigers player bagged two i think

Top ups are a good bunch super proud of how they have developed really are part of this team

Think thats all ive got for now anything i have missed just ask

Was super nice to have a chat with A Bit High sorry about the smashing

Also hope all u ressies facebook page fans enjoyed my 1st attempt typing with out caps it was hard

And i thought lamb kicked three but my have mistaked him for dylan

I found this from a poster on RWO from today's game:

TDL: A bit disappointing, tbh. Got on the end of a few, but seemed to lack intensity. Well and truly outshone by Gordon.
Malceski: Had his own ball out there. His disposal wasn't always great, but he was simply too good.
Lamb: He's yummy. Played midfield and did it bloody well. Very impressed, he was good around the clearances and highly composed.
Rohan: He was absolutely everywhere. Spent time in the midfield and in defence, and excelled.
White: Started in the midfield, before taking on the full-time ruck role, with Pyke playing forward and ruck. He was pretty good, but nothing that screams "select me".
LJ: Looked his usual classy self before going off. The guy just can't catch a break.
Spangher: Pretty solid, playing a variety of roles. Up forward, down back, wing, and he acquitted himself well, but he can do better.
McNeil: Probably his best game for the year. Did all his usual inside work, but also managed to find some space and have a run, which the coaches should be happy with.
Moore: Standard Moore game. Looked a class above whenever he had the ball, he just did nothing to suggest he could run out a senior game like that.
Heath: Played mainly off a wing, and was classy and composed. I'd be surprised if he didn't get quite a few games next year (injury permitting).
McKaigue: As always, his defensive work was great, but his attacking game left a lot to be desired.
Pyke: Got into the game more as it went on, starting quietly but being possibly the most dominant player on the ground in the final quarter. Maybe needs another run, but shouldn't be too far off seniors.
Kruger: His ball skills are atrocious, and he's regularly being outshone by toppies. Not happy, especially since I really his physical attributes and attitude. He just doesn't appear to be a footballer.
Otten: Big meh. Would have liked to see him thrown forward, just for kicks. Can't see him getting a second year.
Gordon: BOG. Dominant display up forward, and on another day could have had 10. Just kept taking marks, and genuine contested marks at that, against guys much bigger than him. Just reads the flight superbly, uses the body and has telescopic arms that just pluck it. Also got on the lead a fair few times. Up forward is his spot. Judging by comments on the seniors performance this week, get him in!!!

Toppies:

Potter: Did a few nice things and acquitted himself reasonably. I like Potter, but I'm not sure he has what it takes to take the next step. He's already physically very developed, but he's not having much impact.
Guthrie: Pretty much ditto Potter.
Lynch: Played mainly in defence. Put up a solid showing, but just lost his feet a few times and made a few errors. I actually like him up forward, I wish they'd play him there more often.
Wales: Solid in defence as ever. Hard to find fault, though whether he's got what it takes for the next step is unclear.
A.Moody: Found a bit of the ball, but his usage was shocking. He really is quite a poor kick, but he can work on that. He's got a bit of something about him though. In a year's time, things might fall into place for him!
Wray: A bit disappointed actually. I really like Wray, but he lacked a bit of composure and intensity today. Plated in defence, made a few errors. Not that I'm writing him off or anything, he just had a bad day.
Robinson: Really quite impressed with Robinson. He's got some zip about him, kicked some good goals, made some good decisions. I like him!

Dearie me, look at that goal kicking...

Thanks Soph, did you notice anyone at the game handing out Haren missing flyers?

Grazie Soph you're doing a great job

That report looks like bsa5's?

Haren is around he's been in a few of the SwansTV video. Not sure why the club feels it necessary to omit him from the injury list

oh awesome had a sticky beak over on RWO and saw it

was a good game very happy

still if we kicked straight

im just hoping we can go all the way but im not sure how the rules will effect us come finals can we still only have the 12 listed players playing?

BTW Soph, I saw you said Pyke went off in the last quarter. Are you sure? I could swear Pyke was not only playing, but played a blinder of a last quarter. Unless I was somehow mixing him up with Jesse. Maybe I was so cold I became delirious?

The challenge is to pick the right guys to shore up the seniors and get them to gel quickly. Rohan seems an automatic and I'd like to see him sweeping across half back to try to give us more run. Moore and Mal would also be in for my money.

The trouble with guys like Nipper is it's so hard to tell if they can translate that form into the seniors but after the fiasco of the Tigers game it'd be worth a punt. Hell, it's probably worth a punt to just swap teams.

Thanks for the reportage Soph :thumbsu:

Everyone should check out the reserves report on the swans website, near the end their is a brilliant run and carry from Gaz which shows why we can't wait for him to come back into the seniors. If only he'd kicked the goal :D

Gaz, McNeil, Lamb and Gordon all impressed me on the weekend

everyone should be heading out to black town on saturday arvo to watch the Ressies play the Lions Ressies will be an exciting match

Win the next two games we take the minor premiership and a strong lead into the finals

Have to say that the Tigers had a red hot crack in the first half. They hit the body pretty hard and forced numerous errors from the Swans...It was a good game til half time. But after half time the lack of man power for the Tigers showed and the class of the Swans came to the top. As the Tiger boys got tired the Swans began to break tackles and do as they pleased.

Not sure but this must have been one of the strongest sides the Swans have put out for some time and if they can keep this group fit then they will be tough to beat.

Gordon - Impressed me most TBH. Marked and presented well and kicked straight.

Spangher - Was to quick for Roy Jaques. He showed poise and class.

Malceski - Got a lot of the ball but if it was SuperCoach his score would not have been that high...Wasted the ball to much for mine.

Rohan - Solid without being spectacular. Made some good offensive runs but did not do enough in and under work in my opinion.

White - Built like Tarzan but play like Jane. Should be destrying blokes at this level but is to nice.

Moore - Was class early when the heat was on. Showed true leadership and will be invaluable come September with his experience.

TDL - When he knows he can mark it he goes at it hard, but not so sure when bodies are around him. Thought he was bigger than he actually is and needs some more time in the gym to give him confidence in heavy traffic.

Lamb - Looks the goods. Has plenty of composure in traffic and wins clearances.

McNiel - Played pretty well. Works well inside and linked up quite nicely also.

Pyke - Quiet early, did not do that much. Won the ruck due to height advantage but nothing around the ground. To be fair I had to leave at 3/4 time but what I saw was below par.
