I was right on the bandwagon before the season started, really thought Lamb would dominate the reserves side and be looking to break into the seniors by the midway point of the season. It seems that dream isn't likely to come to fruition, but it'd be unfair to already call him a failed pick.

It's just a shame that one of the players we did pass on happens to play in a position where we really need more quality at the moment. Jesse can you please continue this decent run of form so I don't have to keep thinking "What if".

Looks like both Jesse and Everitt survive for the seniors based on the named reserves team. At least two of Armstrong, LRT, Smith and Walsh won't play - one spot left in the team and at least one emergency travelling to Launceston.

Swans Reserves v NT Thunder

B: Stephen Wray, Jack Lynch, Jordan Weir
HB: Jackson Potter, Campbell Heath, Tony Armstrong
C: Shane Biggs, Mike Pyke, Eugene Kruger
HF: Jed Lamb, Tommy Walsh, Trent Dennis-Lane
F: Nathan Gordon, Jarred Moore, Lewis Roberts-Thomson
Foll: Nick Smith, Harry Cunningham, Brett Meredith

Int: Dylan McNeil, Mitch Morton, Jordan West, Bradley Plug, Thomas Green, Josh Davis, Mitch Crawford, Alexander Wynn, Andrew Moody

i have baddddd feelings about this game

The result is far less important than the opportunity for our up-and-comers to play against a higher quality team. Regardless of the result, they'll get more out of it than they did beating Tuggeranong last week by 180 odd points.

Swans just got smashed in the last quarter by the NT Thunder
i am disgusted they turned the ball over far to much and gave away stupid frees and kicked one to many behinds when the actually had a 20+ point lead

The umpiring was the worst i have seen far to many awarded to NT inside their forward 50

The only players i think played some what decently was
Morton...4 goals
Walsh was ok
Lamb
and Moore

Pyke was hopeless and was simply out bodied and gave away to many stupid frees and spectated to much

Im mad because they acutally played better i wish they had been smashed rather then give up like they did

I wasnt too worried Soph

Thunder were a good side and they are quick, genuinely a few blokes who should be on the way to London if they were athletically refined. They knew how to exploit the conditions, the ground size and hardness and the umpiring (my god in that last term).

Added to Sophs players I thought Campbell Heath was very good in defense, Grabbed some good marks against the direction of play and chopped off their attack to leads several times. I'm not sure but I think he had a lot of toppies around him so was quite impressed with that.

Biggs work rate is good and watching him move to position when not in possession was a big positive, seemed to be running hard for the right spots, though he likes to dispose of the ball a little early. Armstrong was good at attacking the ball, not always kicking it. McNeal when he's involved looks very good but can he can go missing.

Pyke is either playing injured or has lost interest. Some things he did well on athletic ability but he was a one direction one effort man. And Brett Meredith has no second efforts. That man has a calender spot marked now I think.

i do how ever give credit to NT Thunder for an AMAZING live youtube stream of the game crystal clear no stalling...

Bugger, which I'd known it was on.

Thought he was relatively impressive last week.
Not up against much, but his tapwork was good and I though his overall effort was fine.
Sounds like a very disappointing outing today.

Possible he thought he was a chance this week , given Hawks mobile rucks in Launceston and the realisation hit that he is 3rd choice ruck at 28 years old?

So Armstrong & Walsh obviously played, leaving White as the travelling sub v Hawthorn.

2 of the Hawk subs (Bruce & McCauley) did not play for Box Hill today.

The ruck situation is a great worry, and this is the case when one has a really good look a our cupboard. There is nowt about, only some sort of Frankenstein style fashioning of footballers for rucking roles.

On a side note, nice to see young Heath having his chance to string some games together.

Great to see a decent performance from Morton, I am still hopeful he can maintain good form as he would add something sorely needed to our team

Mitchell should get his first run this week shouldn't he?

He should be. I really think Mitchell (assuming he stays fit) could be in the Swans first team in a few weeks as i think he will do a Daniel Hannebury and will dominate the reserves so much Longmire will have to stick in in the first team a little bit sooner than originally planned. The kid is a gun.

Will anyone be heading out to Blacktown to watch the 2's? Tom Mitchell is hopefully suiting up for his first game and I'd be tremendously interested to read some reports on how he goes. I think all Swans fans would be similarly intrigued.

Foxtel Cup at the SCG in the morning I think?
Oh there is too. But why couldn't they use this game as a curtain raiser to the Swans-Crows game?
