Hope Meredith comes in. Will be keen to debut the Marry Me Meredith banner at the SCG.

Reserves watchers, who was Morton's direct opponent yesterday?
You think we have issues with nicknames for our players. I was reading the ressies thread on the Brisbane board and trying to figure out who 'ace' and 'superman' are. Possibly the same guy

But I digress. I could only make out that Stiller moved onto Mitch later and quietened him down

A couple of comments on the Swans Saturday win.

Eminem took a couple of great contested marks and is well beyond his selected saturday station. Stiller sat on him in the fourth, which might have been a coincidence in quietness, due to it being a warm afternoon (27). He looked laboured in the last.
Campbell Heath's long kicking out of defence at times was outstanding and resulting in goals. The length of his kicking I found quite surprising, and also I might add accurate and attacking. It's good to see him having his chance considering the knee nightmares he has known.
Bulldog bossed Brisbane, and if not selected for seniors from here his cards must be marked. Reserves resident only.
Mitchell looks like everything we hope for, fitness not finesse finds him here.
Merry I thought was wonderful at times with his link play involving the other M's, Mitchell, Moore and Morton magnificent. One particular passage of play involving the forgotten M, Moody resulted in a goal on the run from the forward pocket. It was almost like watching Brazil burn Brisbane. The only reason I see for him missing the best's billing might have been possibly due to two terrible turnovers opposite the Crouch coaching tower. The worst, resulting in a Loins goal in the Last whilst they were making their run at us.
The Irish, took a couple of great grabs on the run, at pace, arms out embracing the ball as his brother. Giving his Loins lackey no chance, a grand gift for one of a forward persuasion. The Irish, it should also be noted, presented again and again. The heat held no hold - Irish is building.
Armstrong I found quite wasteful with his kicking, particularly his passing, considering the conditions whilst not under any perceived pressure. Moody The Midget must ask Santa for some stilettos this festive season or risk the some senario as the little boy at the corner store cunumdrum.

All in all the ones in the Twos we want working their way up to seniors selection showed signs. Though to qualify this, the conditions were conductive, if a little warm. Further more it must also be added the Lions list was loaded with more of their own and they were at home.
Oh, did I mention The Irish.

Onward.:footy:

Love your work Barry. Great to read your thoughts on the game.

I think of all the blokes running around in the magoos, Heath is the one I'd most love to see "make it". His work rate and physique were impressive in the first year he made it up to Sydney, particularly given he was coming off KR1. Obviously the coaches thought so too, given he got a couple of games that year. If his body holds up I reckon he's a near certainly to get back onto the senior list next year, and to play some senior footy. He looks like a Mattner replacement in the making, despite having to play as an undersized key defender in the reserves.

Very happy to see Walsh continue to improve. I've liked what I've seen as the season's progressed. Sure, it is a big step up to real footy from where he's playing at the moment, but I love the fact he knows how to lead, lead to dangerous spots, and has a good set of hands under pressure. Looks like he may be a genuine full forward in the making, not withstanding a slight lack of pace.

Jeez they could have given poor old Seabs the week off.

Name him as an emergency for the firsts along with A.N.Other and let him travel to Melbourne in case of any last minute hiccups with our talls.

I hope Morton continues his good form, we could use some ruck depth.

Meredith and Lamb down back. I like it.
Not as good as Morton in the ruck and Biggs at CHF.

Two ex-Swans Aaron Bruce and Ryan Brabazon will be playing for Eastlake.
