I just went back and looked at the team photos. Oddly enough I played with a Shane Briggs and Shane Biggs!

I was at the Match in Quean B on the weekend and I have to say two things:
1. Morton's attitude was atrocious in the huddle at 3/4 time. Got into a bit of niggle with (I think) Spangher about the delivery they were receiving into the forward 50. Spang's just cut him down. He did a lot better in the final term. If it's indicative of a changing attitude we might see him in the firsts but otherwise he's not going to be any use to the Seniors.
2. Moore doesn't have the aerobic fitness to survive in the AFL as anything other than an inside Mid, a role he won't get unless Kennedy and or Bolton get injured. He sounded like he was going to die for most of the second half.
I have to add that the Quality of the football we have seen in the NEAFL so far has definitely bettered what I saw in the ACTAFL, and I'm loving it other than the fact that I now only see 4 resizes games a year unless I get to see them before a Seniors game in Sydney.
Also, does anyone know if the Academy boy's get a standard number for each game they play or do they get a new one each time they get the call up? I only ask because I couldn't nail down which of the kids was Brandon Jack thigh I could limit it to three of them, each had a decent game.

Re: The Academy Kids aka topups They used to last year when they were more regular but this year only Jackson Potter has been a regular with #47.

I got some numbers for the game but not all of them

Top ups
47. Jackson Potter
50. Monty Krochmal
51. Calum Johnston
53. Alexander Wynn
54. Jack Davis
55. David Lycakis
57. Daniel Cullen
?. Brandon Jack
?. Nathan Kenny

Jack Davis being 54 explains some of the confusion. I'm pretty sure BJ was 56 then. Looked right interms of height, build, and looks. Also, the calls by the boys of "Jack!" for both 54 and 56 make sense.

I'm thinking we all need to e-mail the swans media office requesting more attention to be paid to the Ressies (BTW, resizes seems to be substituted for Ressies in safari if you don't put a capital in). Who wants to agitate with me?

It would seem from the outside, that Morton's incapable of suiting the Swans culture of team before all else. He was talking it up pre-season that he was finally maturing and thankful for his very last opportunity - he sounded quite genuine. But it's all too much. It would seem his sense of entitlement and vanity, mixed with copious amounts of immaturity and insecurity is fundamentally incompatible with our culture (or any professional culture). He'll always be king of the kids - such a waste.

Reminds me of Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite

Disappointed, hope someone let him know that he's basically our charity case
and we hardly need him.
Put his recent inteview into perspective, seems like he believes the selectors are
willing to overlook his faults if he preforming.

Does anyone have any first hand information that this "attitude problem" actually exists or is it just guesswork and supposition from external observers?

Was thinking the same thing, some posters have been critical of him based on one incident (arguing with Spangher) and i seem to remember Shaw doing the same thing with a teamate earlier this year.

He hasn't been playing in the senior team similar to TDL last year but are there any known attitude problems. He could just be problems with fitness or not chasing opposition hard enough even injury.

When you hear people say there is a problem and then you stand around the huddle and see actions that back it up, I think it's reasonable to conclude that the problem exists.

I'm not trying to bag you SG, but is it internal people from the club that you are hearing this from?

I think taking into account what has been said on the forums and his no appearances in the seniors it would be wise to conclude that in a team making a tilt for for top 4 and a premiership beyond that the players in the best 22 must play the style the coaches want them to and not just parts of it. General likeability or if they "fit" into Swans culture is a secondary issue.

I say this because people seem to be suggesting that its a Swans culture issue but can only point to his lack of team orientated football to indicate it. Since when has team orientated football solely come to define Swans culture? He's not out there fighting around the world or making papers for misdeeds it's a more sobering thought that he is not playing the style of football the coaches want him to much like TDL last year.

Give him a year and ignore his talent as it means nothing if he can't put it together the way the coaches would like and when he does he'll play senior football its as easy as that!

I've seen Morton play just once (against Sydney Uni @ BISP)) and he looked one dimensional that day. He kicked a bag, deadly accurate and screwed them around his body, but I just wonder whether the Big Team is really looking for a one dimensional full forward.....haven't had one since Bradshaw.
The Big Team's game relies on versatility, rapid adjustment and multi-skilling and I suspect they'd need to rework the game plan to fit Morton in.
I reckon he'd need to adapt to the existing game plan rather than having the team play to his.

But, hey, I'm no Supercoach and I might have it all wrong.

Whaddyurekkun ?

Originally from Vic. Moved over when Barry coached at freo.

Think his dad has a talent identifying role in Melbourne for us now.

In a recent video on the swans site they had an injury report where they mentioned Mitchel had slight knee tendonitus problem and were taking no chances resting him that week added to the bye making it two weeks.

Video was called swans tv injury update r12
