The flat performance, and Maxwell's after-game comments that the team ws flat at training all week, coupled with the tired finals fade-outs of the last 2 years, have really set off alarm bells in my cranium.

Especially key players like Harry, Jolly, Swan and Dids but also others like Sidey and Beams, should be considered for a week off playing and a light week on the track. Yes it's a bit risky but so is not doing it, and Bullys with their current problems shouldn't be too scary but anything can happen on the day and nearly did vs Crows. Get past Dogs and theres a well-earned break but i they win we're in dire straights.

Reckon they all had a pretty massive rest this weekend, apart from didak and thomas who supposedly hurt themselves why rest the others who didnt get past first gear

That's just it - they might have looked like they were bludging to you, but they were trying like hell - which suggests burn-out just like the last 2 years.

At least they have the benefit of a dead rubber next week.

Yeah burnout is a bit of a cop out, last week was an easy victory and the side would have left the ground bruiseless such was the ease.

That's just it - they might have looked like they were bludging to you, but they were trying like hell (this bit I understand) - which suggests burn-out (then you somehow come up with this) just like the last 2 years (and somehow settle on this which no one has ever said before).

Are you like this with everyone, or just bitching at me for some reason?

IF good players are trying really hard but playing flat, you can't understand that could be caused by burn-out?

In the last 2 finals series Collingwood have seriously underperformed compared to their H&A form.

If they beat the bulldogs they can have a rest..
Finally, someone else gets the picture.

NO ONE GETS A REST NEXT WEEK, if you have a slight injury, by all means sit the week out and recuperate, but NO ****ING RESTS.

I would have thought Goldsacks' "shocker" last night would have proved how even missing one game can "****" with your confidence and form.

Leave out Didak (shoulder) and maybe Shaw (back - all year complaint), but unless anyone else has a problem, don't "rest" them.

They get a rest after 2 more games, and if we lose our first final and don't get a rest, we are ****ed anyway.

You confuse opinion with fact.

You build a couple of nonsensical points around your opinion and then decide wallah, we have a fact.

Well granted it is true that theoretically, they have had an easier run to finals than 08/09. Not sure how much that would lessen potential burn-out but maybe. Every AFL game is tough and they were all playing to keep their spots even if usually winning easily. The pressure cooker style of play seems particularly demanding to me also.

It's notable that all top 4 sides have dead rubbers next week so will be interesting what strategy they employ - ie which ones do rest players.

OH yeah and will be relevant to see how Freo plays next week.
