With this weeks results a 3rs spot is confirmed, it now make round 23 now a dead rubber. We will finish 3rd whatever results fall next week.
I think it's time to rest Mundy, Mayne, Johnson (if Luke is in) and possibly Ballas. Do any of you guys thing it's flirting with form? I'm just worried about travelling 2 weeks in a row.

Agreed, lets go to Melbourne with a b side get flogged by the saints and the media can have a field day telling the football world that we are pretenders, we had a soft draw and we are generally no good. Then come back and totally smash the cats at etihad just like last year. Just for giggles what do ya think? :D

One player may get a rest but I don't think we will do wholesale resting of players.

Interesting to note that Ross said that McPharlin, Sandi and Ibbo would all come in next week. So with all those three coming in, I think that it is more likely we would want to play to our structure and get the players are run at Etihad, where we will more than likely play our first final.

Why rest anyone?

Honestly, these are professional athletes who train specifically to endure an extended season. The fact is, everyone seems to want to believe that they are fragile and can only just scrape through. Form is more important than anything else and it makes sense to keep a good thing going. Momentum is the name of the game.

If it were me I'd be resting sore players. The finals is a 4 week campaign, we don't need another 2012 - Luke McPharlin scenario. Lyon has them dog hungry. The players brought in won't be coasting next week if the get a chance 1 week out from finals.
We have another opportunity to expose some fringe players to Etihad that may be called on in the next month. Pull the trigger Ross.

Play your best 22 next week and rest Fyfe, Mundy and Barlow against cats to save them for the home final against Collingwood. I wish !!!

I think you will find its a 3 week campaign... ;)

I doubt ballas will get a rest. If he wanted a rest or a rest was advised to him he wouldn't have played last night.
Rest one or two of Barlow, Mundy, Fyfe, Hill or Pearce if needed but that's all

I think a rest for one or two that may be sore. I'd have thought the players would be keen to play though. Injury could happen any time, just need to hope our players stay fit and lady luck shines on us throughout September!

Bit scared about facing Hawks in first week though... how likely are Sydney to beat Hawks next week?

More likely than Brisbane are of beating Geelong! :D

But seriously, Ballantyne should be rested. There may be a few players "testing" his shoulder over the next month or so ...

I'd be wondering about Mundy, Barlow, plus pretty much anyone else who hasn't missed a game, Muzz, Crawley, Johnson, etc.

Not all of them but i'd be thinking about 2-3.
