don't you think players are rested in the middle of the year. I still don't understand why we rested Clarke. I hate for us to be tanking. There's only one way to find out and that's tommorow night.

If he has a niggle, he shouldn't be playing at all. I really think that MM has pulled the pin on the season, and is now just trying out the kids. This week it's Rusling, and to be honest I would be surprised if Pendles plays, I reckon Stanners or Shazza will come in.

Nothing wrong with resting kids in their first year or two. It’s smart man management. It’s a tough gig for teenagers. After a couple of pre seasons they cope better. As it stands there isn’t much point playing guys who are knackered anyway. Clarke, Goldsack and co have dropped off a bit.

we're forced to rest them..they played for too long as it is and our whole game will continue to be complete shite until they have rested

Pity Mickey Mouse wasn,t smart enough to rest Josh,he,s absolutely destroyed Fraser,Josh is a 25 year old in a 45 year old body.
Good work Collingwood.

A bit off the track, but wasn't MM flirting with debuting King in the 2002 granny?

Mind games! Just the stuff he was feeding the media throng

Resting players is wise, I would much prefer have a rounded, horses-for-courses type squad of 30-35 than a best 22. Look what happened to Adelaide last year when they were a gun side ("whos gonna beat them?") but ran out of legs on the back of a massive training program and being too top heavy with no-one to come into the side. I really think you should be able to have a great squad, with maybe 5-6 first/second year players still developing at most, and the rest fully capable...

I think Malthouse has decided Williamstown has more off a chance of winning a premiership than Collingwood and all energy should be put into that.

I agree with the first poster, resting players is rubbish. It makes the club look soft and other teams would think the same thing. It seems that Collingwood is the only team that rests its players.

Didnt see the Eagles or Swans do it and look they got premierships.

I have no problem with the age old line of thought of "resting" players out of form or those with injuries.....

Josh Fraser will rest and be rejuvenated. Just like any athlete who has been forced to take on too much due to circumstance....
To say that Malthouse has "destroyed" him is very much what an hysterical mother would say...pull your skirt back down and stop screaming.....LOL..it's only a mouse.
