BlueYoss
Norm Smith Medallist
Along similar lines to The Bride's "Death List Five" in Tarantino's Kill Bill movies.
There are 6 clubs that we have not managed to win a home & away game against in four home & away seasons or more, and some of the average losing margins are even more excruciating.

REVENGE LIST SIX
(1) Adelaide
Our last Victory: Round 11, 2004 -A (dreadlocked) Fev goal with 2 mins on the clock from the 50m and boundary lines at AAMI got us over the line 12.15.87 to 14.7.91. This gutsy come from behind win no doubt provided the inspiration that got us over the line against Hawthorn and Richmond in the following weeks (the last time we have won 3 games in a row). Of course now we all know that that was the false dawn.
Since then: They have won their last 4 games against us by an average margin of 31 points.
(2) North Melbourne
Our last victory: Round 16, 2004 -We got over the line in a low scoring affair at Princes Park 9.16.70 to 9.8.62.
Since then: They have won their last 5 games against us by an avergage margin of 33 points.
(3) Geelong
Our last victory: Round 2, 2004 -In the last week of the suspension Stevo was still serving from his Port Adelaide days, Campo led the way with 32 disposals and 4 goals and with Fev's 5 goal haul and strong performances from Scotto, Hoops, Lappin and Karl Norman (remember him? ...he doesn't
) we belted the Cats 16.8.104 to 6.14.50 at Princes Park that day. The Thursday night before that game also happened to be the last time Charlie Gardiner ever showed up to work out at the same time as me -spewing!!
Since then: They have won their last 5 games against us by staggering average margin of 65 points!!
(4) Brisbane
Our last victory: Round 8, 2001 -Ahhhh 2001, 'the Kouta old days'. 36 disposals 11 marks and 3 goals -a walk in the (Princes) Park. Fev and Lappin chipping in with 3 goals each to provide a nice spread and we smashed the Lions 21.16.142 to 9.14.68. The next week Adelaide beat the Lions by 5 at the Gabba. The Lions then won the next 16 games in a row including the Grand Final...and the next two grannies after that!! What being thumped by Carlton can do to a team....
Since then: They have won their last 8 games against us by an average margin of 45 points.
(5) Sydney
Our last victory: Round 8, 2000 -Carlton 16.3.109 thump Sydney 9.10.64 on a Sunday afternoon at Pricnes Park. Kouta 39d 13m 2g, McKay 31d 8m, Campo 30d 2g, Ratts 29d 3m 1g....need I say more?
Since then: They have won their last 10 games against us by an average margin of 26 points.
(6) St Kilda
Our last victory: Round 20, 2001 -How can you not win games when Fev boots 5 and Kouta has 34 disposals takes 7 marks and kicks 2 himself? We convincingly brushed the Aints aside 16.8.104 to 22.16.148 at the Dome on the way to our last finals appearance....until.....??
Since then: They have won their last 10 games against us by a whopping average margin of 54 points!!!
There has been much debate as to whether or not we can make the 8 this year. One thing is for certain: We will need to win at least 4 out of the remaining 8 games to be in with a chance.
And 5 of these 8 games are against clubs on my Revenge List Six!
I don't say this as if it in any way shakes my confidence in the boys' ability to get over the line, I have no doubt at all that we will knock some of them over.
I just thought it would be a good time to identify these monkeys that have overstayed their welcome on our backs for all these years, and to drive home how important it is to send them flying back to where they came from, and most importantly, when we finally do, appreciate just what a feat it has been to do it!
Once we have registered home and away victories over each of these 6 teams we will have finally broken the shackles of the past 6 years and we will be gathering serious momentum on our way to flag # 17.
And it all starts next week against St Kilda, an "8 point" "must win" game for both teams, and it's against the team that has smashed us to the tune of almost 10 goals over 10 consecutive encounters!
It is our time to turn the tide back to the way it was meant to be, to slam the Aints' non existant premiership window closed so emphatically that it shatters their fingers as they desparately try to hold it open in denial!
Finally, there is a line in The Bride's narration that in a way echoes much about Carlton's past six years and where we currently stand (only The Bride left the worst offender until last -in our case we take them on first) and with only a few word substitutions:
"Looked dead, didn't we? But we weren't. But it wasn't from lack of trying, We can tell you that. Actually, Vlad's last bullet put us in a coma - A coma we were to lie in for six years. When we woke up, we went on what the movie advertisements refer to as a 'roaring rampage of revenge.' We roared. And we rampaged. And we got bloody satisfaction. We've killed a hell of a lot of teams to get to this point, but we have only one more. The last one. The one we're driving to right now. The only one left. And when we arrive at our destination, we are gonna kill St Kilda!"
