There's a couple who I would have played weeks ago rather than let languish in the reserves playing like they expect to never get a game no matter how they played. Put them in and watch them lift. A bit more hunger, skill, composure and speed will be injected. Dimma would have sent a message to the remaining players who dont get dropped. From the official site I gather Vlastuin, ohanlon, miles, helbig, Vickery and possibly Batchelor are coming in and Grigg is coming out. I'd say the 5 to follow Grigg would be Thomas, Morris, Hampson, Edwards and possibly Jackson. I would probably limit to 5 changes. These changes and this team will keep me going to games:

FB grimes Rance Houli
HB Batchelor Chaplin Dea
C Ellis Vlastuin McDonough
HF ohanlon Vickery Deledio
FF Griffiths Reiwoldt Martin
FOLL maric Cotchin Jackson
INT foley Conca miles Lennon

Grunt in the middle with Vlastuin and miles
Ellis and McDonough move up to the wings
Deledio and Martin up forward
All 6 above rotating through the middle

Out: Morris, Grigg, Thomas, Hampson, Edwards

In: Vlastuin, Batchelor, ohanlon, miles, Vickery

Over the rest of season give Elton, darrou, helbig, arnot, Lloyd, Gordon, Mcbean and Macintosh games

Once Astbury is back he replaces Chaplin.

Out this year: petterd, Thomas, Stephenson, knights, Morris, King, newman, A Edwards, Williams

Depth next year: Grigg, Chaplin, S Edwards, Hampson

It's time to make a definite call on the younger guys who have been on the fringe for a while, give them game time now and see if they sink or swim and make a call at the end of the year.

I love the message we send to the younger guys, bust your arse off, lay tackles and get dropped... yep that sounds great :/

Cant wait to see Donuts, Dea, Houli, Chaplin etc. struggle to even get near their man again

Something i prepared earlier, a Richmond U/23 side from the 2014 list if everyone was fresh and healthy.

B: Grimes Astbury McIntosh
HB: Batchelor Dea McDonough
C: Ellis Miles Conca
HF: Vlaustin Elton O'Hanlon
F: Arnot McBean Helbig
R: Griffiths Martin Lennon

What do people think, something to work with or not ?

Agree, but I believe that this weekend is quite important for Hardwick moving forward. He needs to know the players are still with him, so I think the core group of players will be given the chance this week.

If we see a performance similar to last week, I wouldn't be surprised if Hardwick himself pulls the pin in the next 1-2 weeks.

Because he's shit. The only reason he hasnt been dropped is because he has photo evidence of Hardwick in a compromising position.
Wow! That's astounding, I'm assuming you've seen these?
What was Dimma doing? Is this a Carey type situation?
Can't wait for you to show us the proof, this could rip the club apart!

Not bad MT, but I'd go slightly different to you:

B: Dea Rance Grimes
HB: Vlastuin Elton Petterd
C: Conca Thomas Ellis
HF: Martin Griffiths Deledio
F: S.Edwards Riewoldt Vickery
R: Maric Cotchin Miles
INT: McDonough Lennon O'Hanlon Helbig

Out: Chaplin Hampson Houli Grigg Foley(all omit) Morris Jackson(both injured)
In: Elton Vickery Vlastuin Petterd Miles O'Hanlon Helbig

As I've said elsewhere people want hardness in the side and yet one of the first names that always gets booted is Thomas. The bloke is slow, we all agree, but he can get his hands on the ball, does the defensive work around stoppages in terms of laying tackles and does the team things like blocking and opening up gaps for team mates. With Thomas and Jackson out the pressure goes all on Cotchin to do the heavy lifting in the midfield. Miles as good as he has played at VFL level is a small bloke who won't be able to crash and bash all game with little support.

IMO a midfield built around Cotchin Deledio Martin Miles & Thomas as the hard nuts sets a standard for the side going forward. Having the likes of Conca Ellis Lennon McDonough O'Hanlon & Helbig there are the support cast gives us a good chance to have a look at them in roles we should be playing them in full time i.e. wings/midfielders/forwards.

For the time being I'd leave Vlastuin across HB as he gives us hardness and drive. Now I understand Petterd is not a favorite on here but unlike Houli he'll go when it's time to go and give us drive from HB. Same with Dea, accountable and drive. Given Chaplin has said that he is out of form and has shown 0 accountability all year I'd give Elton a crack and see what he brings to the table.

The one constant through this side is hardness and decent skill across the board, yes even Petterd.

Couldn't like this post enough. Glad to see I'm not the only one who sees and values what Thomas brings to the team.

Are we sure about this?

Yes C4 confirmed a tear in his rotator cuff... Morris is not Cotchin but he is hardly the problem. The last two seasons he was one of the best lockdown defenders going around. Slightly lacking on the offensive output but Id argue best 22

Would love to see Elton and darrou soon but never petterd
Need someone with a cool head in defence and Batchelor is the obvious choice for me
