Where do you guys think Richard Hadley is at?I thought he was great in the games he played. I also think if he plays majority of the games next year he will finish top 5 in the B&F. Do you have him in your best 22?

He was a great pick up last yearand will prove his worth with us no doubt. Provided his injury free this season could well be his best because I'm sure he still himself believes that he has something to prove.

i certainly do , provides abit of mongrel and can get the ball under the packs , people are forgetting he can be very damaging when on song. leigh matthews didnt want to get rid of him at all.

Think he'll be a member of our 22, but how much further, time will tell. On what basis do you think he'll finish top 5 in our B&F?

Was decent in the games he played for us, though not great. The only other games he's played since 04 was 14 last year - and if memory serves, the reason he missed a few was because he was dropped (though happy to be corrected).

Was that before or after he did his knees? May of been coming off the knee recos and still needed time to adjust.

Apologies for my ignorance, but was Hadley suffering from a lingering injury throughout most of this season, and more specifically was it the main reason he was constantly in and out of our squad this year?

I love how he plays, and thought he was going to tear the competition apart while he was at Brisbane prior to doing his knee. I hope he can work his way into our side permanently. :thumbsu:

Hadley, most definetely has a spot in our 22. He does not have pace but he has good skills, inside midfielder and can do a run with role. Before he got injured this year he was starting to settle and was playing well. Keep in mind he had a interrupted pre-season.

Like Judd with a full pre season under their belts this year i think next season we will see the best of Hadley and Judd back to Brownlow form again.

Yes and yes. Don't recall him playing too many games for the Bullants.

I tend to agree with the OP re Hadley adding that 'inside' grunt that our midfield rotation is a little short of. If we are actually to make top 4 next year Hadley will need to have a big year i suspect.

If he's fit, Hadley is fairly easily in our best 22.

To put it simply, Hads offers our side something that we have been lacking, something that we desperately need - a strong, tough, mature body in the middle of the park.

What we have lacked for a fair while is someone that's willing to put his body on the line, someone that's willing to stick up for his teammates, someone to get the ball and hurt the opposition (also physically) when need be. Hadley is that person.

He may have lost all pace due to injury, but he makes up for it in other areas. He knows how to get the ball, and he knows how to use it. Disposal may not be perfect, but it's fine. He also has a bit of versatility in him, being that he can play varying roles through the middle, and also can go forward and loves to kick a goal.

We need many things to progress as a side, and Hadley provides one of those things. We did very well trading for him, as he came cheap and he realistically could add a whole lot more to our side than pick 52, which is what we got him for, ever could.

If he's fit, watch for him come round 1 in the seniors. He's a very good player - he just needs to get over the injuries.

I have to be honest here,i like him to play well, but his been injured pretty much for years.I'm sure if he has another year off the same it will be almost over. I like what he did in the games he played but you get the feeling his just like a few other guys who can't shake injuries since having major ones.

Well i hope he has got a bit of pace in his artillery still J but spot on post. If Hads is fit he can do the bullocking work for Juddy. Then Chris can, with a full pre season, do what he does best. Hads could be very important for us next season and beyond:thumbsu:

He's also tall for a midfielder - well over 6'2". That's a type we've missed since Kouta.

What's that? A tall athletic midfielder type? Someone, batsignal Jordan Russell, quickly!

A fit Hadley is a walkup start in 14 teams in this league. I have no doubt that he'll be a permanent fixture on the teamsheets next season.

i prefer bentick over hadley, just so stong in the hips.

I prefer AB as well. Two years younger and I reckon more upside.

In the games Hads played for us I didn't really notice him that much. If it was the injuries, then hopefully he will have a better season next year.

Hadley skills are better but Bentick body can take more to it and recover when hurt, maybe because his younger and shorter while Hadley has had some major injuries.I agree maybe that Bentick still has his best to give while Hadley best will never come as his injury put that away, but he can still play his best since the injuries like Kouta, but we never see what he could have done.

LOL
We trade pick 52 for Hadley.
Pick 52 was Bradd Daziell.
Rather Daziell than Hadley:thumbsu:

Haven't seen much of daziell, But the chances we would have got him = nearly none.

Bentick isn't nearly as good as Hadley, Hads has more speed, much better skills and can tackle just as well as Bentick.

Will be very interesting to see if he can get through the preseason injury free as his last pre-season did not start untill after xmas so fingers crossed he can get a full one under his belt.

If he does not play more then 10 games next year because of injury i would delist him - not only did he have knee and OP issues during the year he also had an op on his hip at years end though this may have been related to his OP

Definately in our best 22, I would have both him and Banno in mine as they offer us big hard bodies which you need when we play the likes of Hawthorn Geelong ect.

The one thing that is clear is that in 2009 the competition for all spots in the 22 will be really hot. To be able to pick any 22 players from this far out is just an exercise in fantasy. I know we all have our "little favorites" but injuries and form mixed with the need for team balance and what team we are playing against decides who and where they play.
It's almost an impossible task.:confused::confused::confused:

If he can get his body right over the Summer, I reckon he'll be a massive inclusion into our 22. Hard at it, and would be the ideal type who could really help Judd out around the clearances. Would be great to see him play 15+ games next year.

Hadley just needs an injury free pre season. I love the way he plays, hard at it and can get the footy. i would take him over Bentick all day every day. In our best 22 easily.
