While I agree with Grigg, similar height, I thought I'd throw Steven Browne's name into the mix.

He's been largely pigeon-holed as a back pocket, probably replacing Armfield (specially as Anderson got towelled up). He has a hard edge to his game. When he has built up endurance, he'll spend quite a bit of time in the centre square.

what an absolute shame for hads, he has been crucial for us the last few weeks, he does a lot of the grunt work in protecting juddy, he will be a huge loss, im not sure who else can replace him and do his role, its so disappointing, hopefully he will come back primed for next like jammo and waite

as Ratts said in one of the post-game interviews, just so unfair that the guy throwing himself at the ball and setting the tone for his team mates is the guy that gets injured. this is a big loss for us. i don't think we can bring in anyone as tough+skillful as Hadley, but i am hoping for Grigg.

Hadley is a huge loss.

Not many others in our squad can add the toughness to the contest in the middle of the ground like he can.

Got to feel for him too. Has suffered a number of terrible injuries over several seasons and just when he was playing good footy and heading towards being an integral part of a finals team, he breaks his arm. Really bad luck for Richard there.

Here's hoping that whoever comes in for him can fill the big gap that he leaves, and that Hads can get hiself fully fit for a full-on assault on season 2010.

I'm absolutely gutted about his injury. I think he is our 3rd most important player (after Fev and Judd). He offers us something few others in the team can. Judd will probably now have to play a much more inside type of game.

FWIW, depending on Bentick's form in the VFL (I'm pretty sure I've read he's been playing well and kicking lots of goals), I'd like him to come in as he's pretty much a direct swap for Hadley, and I think it's vital to have someone in our team who can play that role.

However, I think Grigg is in our best 22 so I wouldn't be too fussed if he came in, although as I said I really think it's vital in finals to have someone who can play Hadley's role, so I'd prefer Bentick.

I'd say that it would be Grigg to come in for Hadley.

As much as I think Bentick 'could' do a role for us, I don't think bringing him into the team in round 22 against Adelaide is a good idea.

Go with Grigg who is surely a more versatile player than Bentick.

Bentley to step willingly into the recently vacated JR role of #1 scapegoat for me. Honestly i think we need his toughness, Grigg wont do it and they dont seem too keen on Bentick or Ellard (who i'd love to see)

Bentick hasn't played AFL footy in a year and has missed most of this season through injuries.

Somehow I doubt the MC will bring him in on the eve of finals.

Shame really. As much as I can't stand Carlton. You don't like seeing players get injuried like that. His experience in playing finals football and especially GF's can't be underestimated. Big loss.

CARLTON midfielder Richard Hadley's season is almost certainly over, while hamstring injuries have cast doubt over the finals prospects of four other players.

Hadley, who had been in good form for the Blues, broke the ulna bone in his forearm during the second quarter of Saturday's match against Melbourne.

Interesting suggestion. Might suit Wiggo to a "t".

Browne another good suggestion.

I suspect vs Crows we will want "run and carry" and reasonable disposal rather than another "in and under" so Grigg may well push ahead in this regard.
