Opinion Richmond ‘definitely’ a chance to feature in 2017 AFL finals series, says Dion Prestia

DION Prestia is loving life at his new AFL club.

In fact, the gun recruit has so much faith in his new Tigers teammates that he has very high expectations for his club in 2017.

Seems like playing in front of huge crowds was one of the biggest incentives for Prestia coming to Tigerland.

Had a lot of positives to say about Donna too. 'Encourages players to work to their strengths' was a quote that resonated to me. If that is the message that is being sold this year then I'm expecting a lot more freedom of play, instinctive flair and exciting passages. My only worry would be defense. This never comes naturally to a player so maintaining a level of intensity and accountability is still important.

Hope Prestia can stay out on the field all year because if he can, along with the inclusion of Caddy and Vlaustin, he will make our midfield one of the most feared in the league!

I couldn't escape the irony though when Preston was talking about how Donna was one of the reasons he came to the club and how he gets around the players. They showed footage of Donna celebrating a win and hugging a few players. Who were they? Lids and Vickery

I loved hearing that we have a very tight playing group. Hasn't always been the case.

I really am positive about this year. Just think we have the cattle now and game plan to make a difference

A deep midfield and veteran ruckman that sells the dummy in the back 50m. Things are looking good. But the roses are red at this time of the year for every club, and a new recruit is never going to demonstrate any negativity at his new home.

But Prestia is right. We will play finals in 2017. Good thing is - no one rates us right now. The bandwagon is empty. Get off to a good start and the media will jump on "told you so - Richmond has the 4th best midfield in the comp".

Except Carlton.

You bet, I've saved all the articles roasting Richmond, and if the media jumps on us mid season, I'll be calling them out.

Is Donna our new coach ? :p

Yep, definitely a chance, we play the same amount of games as other teams so have an equal chance of winning and losing. Right, that covers the non-variables, now let's look at the semi-variables and variables o_O:oops::huh::eek:

There is a chance..................

Who The FUCH is DONNA???
Who is Donna??
Just our new secret weapon who's going to take us to finals and beyond this year! Who does Dimma, Balmey, Blake and co. Report to? Yep Donna. Who tweaked our game plan? Who got in the ear of our latest signings?? Who designed the vibrant new puma guernseys??? Who does Peggy see in her worst nightmares???? Yep, all Donna... I've heard she even killed an opposition line coach with her bare hands and kicked his still-beating heart through the big sticks from outside 50 Just to send our forwards a 'message'

“I actually don’t know what to expect, so that’s the whole reason why I wanted to move down, to have that awesome experience and to be able to play in front of so many (members).”

Yeah, GC don't draw 80K!

Got to say that the thing I liked most was that he said the message was simple. That is very un-Dimma. The players have enough experience to know what to do. Making it simpler and focusing on easily understood structures and playing to instinct is what we need right now.
