Key Round 3 Matchups

Firstly i will include nathan brown in case he plays which i think he will

Brown: Clement has to be first choice as brown usually carves us up. Licca if he moves in to midfield.
Richardson: Prestigiacomo
Shultz: Wakelin
Krakour: Killed us last year in wet, maybe heath or most likely rhyce
If simmonds doesnt play i think its time for josh to really stand up and dominate pattinson. Guy also needs to exert some serious influence on the game.

could we play richards out of the square he used to play there in the 18's for games it would stretch them and the new rules about chopping the arms and in the back would only help him.it's just a thought

Considering the fact that he struggles to hold onto chest marks when he's 10 metres in the clear, I'm reckon that the only usefullness of having Richards in the forward line is if you needed a 5th goal post.

Malthouse has indicated there will be changes this week, involving senior players. Some may be dropped to the reserves.Who will they be?
So,then who'll come in?

This could be a danger game for us especially, since we are coming back from W.A,and if Brown and simmonds play,we could get towled up ?
Should play josh, give him freedom all over the ground, like goodes does for sydney, and play both bryan (if not injured) and Richards in the ruck.Drop licuria and bring in either D..ck or shannon Cox.I reckon give danny nicholls one more chance,it's a big call to say to a kid play your first game travel to Perth and play aginst the eagles,so he deserves another go.

I haven’t seen last weeks game but from what I can gather Licuria is playing poorly and given he is a poor kick for a senior AFL player he should be dropped. Nichols was probably not ready but I wouldn’t be adverse to another chance.

The Richmond players to match up on are Brown if he plays (Clement) and Richo (Presti). Play someone on Bowden that will hurt him if he doesn’t play on him. That might be Rocca but that would require someone else to play FF. That could give Medhurst a (short term) make or break opportunity to prove himself. I’d play Richards all day in the ruck with only the odd breather break from Fraser. If Richards can’t get quality hit outs against the Tigers I’d drop him until injury meant we had to play him and just sack him at the end of the year. After that I’d like to think we were good enough to go toe to toe and win comfortably.

Lonie is a bit of a mystery. In the Herald Sun it mentioned he was omitted because of groin injury and "may be out for some time".

I wouldn't be surprised to see us semi-tagging J.Bowden. Although having said that he han't been in brilliant ball getting form as of late. If that happens the man would be Maxwell or even O'Brien, depending on what Richmond throw up forward.

I thought i saw somewhere that Lonie had the dreaded osteitis pubis

I reckon we should strech them defensively and make Bowden play on Rocca, Frase or Cloke. He probably will anyway, He has been getting proper jobs lately.

Is Ben Johnson Injured?

As for Browny, Wallace said he isn't going to risk him this week. But he will probbaly do the last couple of training sessions this week. Wallace is a trickster and Brown could be a late includsion. Simmonds said he was 50/50 last weekend. But he has been traing for almost a for full week now. Can't see him playing though

What about the Midfielders?

Tuck - Pendles
Johnson - Johnson
Polo - Burns
Foley - Lica
Hyde - H Shaw
Tivendale - O'Bree
Lids - Swan

Your thoughts?

How do you rate your midfield? We get the most heat of any team about having a poor midfield ("too slow, can't hit targets") but I think with the season ending injury to Coughlin, Richmond may have the poorest midefield.
