Gday, went down to the fans training was very good can see major improvement from all players.

Training

Foley dominated is fast as lighting will be a major player in 2007

Schulz, Jon, Edwards, Peterson, Connors and Collins were on the sideline for most of training.

Tambling is looking the goods is built like a tank and also copped a spraying from Richo for not passing the ball during a drill.

Polak is looking strong, is doing very well on matching up.

krakour is really slow hes not looking the goods at the moment.

Deledio was good all day but needs to work on holding a man got beaten by richo in a leading marking drill many times.

Simmonds and Cogs are in the leadership group Richo and Gas are out.

Man of the training

Cam Howat

How is his agility looking? Would you say he's agile for his size?

Don't think that's a big deal. Richo is a massive KPP, Delido is just a mid. He doesn't have to holding guys that big IMO.

I thought his agility was pretty good, as were his hands on a few occasions in the game drills. Taller than I thought, not a man mountain though, he's fairly slim.

Riewoldt, King and Peterson seemed to me to be the only new kids who've got a body capable of playing AFL level presently.

From the training i noticed hyde just doing a lot of running and little or no ball work .... could some one please fill me in with a reason e.g injuries cheers

Krakouer will spend a lot of time in the midfield. Has been training for a hardball get type role. Similar to Foley.

He doesn't need to rely on speed for this role. Just ability to gain possesion and pass it off to one of our 20 'running recieving' type midfielders.

krakouer and midfield?

when did the afl say they were going to introduce 1 minute quarters?

His only problem may be getting to the contests. I have never had much of a problem with his courage and he certainly has some freaky skills.

If you got off the computer and saw them train you might see why I am bringing up these valid points. You are basing all your opinions on what you have seen on TV/ at games (if you attend).

Last pre-season I copped flak from frawleywits like yourself when I mentioned P.Bowden is going to have a big year and the role he was training for.

So your going to say that Krakouer is no good at extracting the ball from the bottom of the pack?
If so then you really do have no idea:rolleyes:

Not unusual. :p

Hows Chris Newman and Thursfield coming along?

Newman started full running on wednesday at Vic park and is improving slowly at should be right for the Nab cup.

Thursfield is also training with the main group but some drills will go to the sidelines to do bike or handballing due to security of his injury.

I hear Thursfield's knee is OK, just that he did a hammy 2-3 weeks back and that is the main reason he's not with the main group. Schultz also suffering a hammy too, which is a shame - hopefully he can get back into the full training post the Christmas break.

I'd be surprised if Brown's experience didn't make Newman delay a return until the season proper.

yeh i dont know footy because i dont go to training in december

and your just a wealth of knowledge

the club can put him in an inside midfield role in training and he can look good but what makes you think he can do it in a game, his fitness is poor and he still has the same arms then when he arrived so he will get smashed, but hey he's the best boxer at the club so watch out opposition :thumbsu:

if you said raines was going to have a cracker year then id give you credit but so what about bowden loose man in defence hardly world beating

stop having a whinge for a change and take a comment for what its meant for and thats good discussion :thumbsu:
