Was pretty impressed with Smith yesterday. Playing just his second game of scratch footy in 18 months and he looked really at home.

Has express pace when up and running, but most impressive was his composure under pressure. Our backline leaked like a sieve early with the ball coming down at almost unopposed, but he was seemed to handle the pressure. As did Hugo but for some ordinary kicking. Looks a really promising half back or perhaps wingman, because we need that outside run and carry badly up above.

Tommy Mac is a great person along with being a good footballer. He took cricket more seriously while growing up and could bowl heat!

Shifted to taking foorball seriously when he started playing at Old Mentone in VAFA division 1. Last year he moved to Highett in SFNL division 2. Where he came second in their best and fairest.

He has a lot of upside and growth in his football.

Who's getting these gems into our VFL program?

Thanks for the snippet. Real surprise yesterday.

There were quite a few who once settled were pretty good. Last season the captain Street was so important as that constant mid who did all the hard things. Was pretty well not needed in that capacity last night. May and Stewart up forward worked really well together. That goal by May was top shelf. Good to see some new faces.

Nice little highlights package on our website of the VFL praccy
McAuliffes gather from a marking contest and slamming it through from 45m was sublime. Then in heavy traffic in the middle he pinpoints Cumberland in a congested f50, mint!!!
Cumberland’s work in the 2nd half looked above the level . Highlighted by 55m bullet on the wing to his teammate 15m out.

And May looked very impressive, albeit not sure if he was playing on an AFL listed defender? Still looked very mobile for a big unit

Great to hear reports on Smiths run/carry, very evident from last night’s game we need young, quick legs

McAuliffe, Cumbers and the Sonz will add to the senior line up when they get their chance.

Cumbo just has a knack of getting into the right spots. Kicked 3 and had 3 goals assist.
McAuliffe great running goal on his left. Works hard, has speed and uses it well.

Archie may looks a likely type. A good turn of speed. Very mobile.

In the end a 6 point loss.

Smith looked like Usain Bolt at one stage, forgot he was on a footy field and not Olympic Park, but he has serious speed.

How’d you rate his disposal yesterday?
Didn't get a lot of it, but under pressure around the packs he seemed pretty cool headed. Also just has enough toe to give himself a yard which is important. Given that was his first 4Q hit out it stood out. But he kicked it well enough, certainly a more natural kicker than Hugo who has a bit similar traits.

It's just one outing, but I reckon he is one to watch, and it won't be rd.18 or something.

I presume Davidson was the blondie at FF. Any idea on his size? seems to have a lot of good football traits.
Up against the other May (199cm), looked about 194cm at a guess? They both had their moments, said in the game that Davidson had a touch of the Jack energy about him, went hard at the ball and had a bit of swagger.

I'm wondering if Baker is VC he shook hands at centre square anything been confirmed?
