hey boys hope you don't mind my dropping in but wouldn't mind having a little punt on this game Thursday night, and certainly do not condone gambling by any means:o but can't seem to get a good gauge on just where the Tigers are at from the pre-season which counts for nothing of course. Team sheet isn't out yet but I reckon the Blues are gonna be switched on this season and starting this Thursday have heard positive vibes coming out and from previous meetings they have had some big opening wins but so far the best bet looks to be the Blues over 15.5 points paying around $1.75, that's basically a close game in the eyes of bookies. Can just see the Blues snapping that 1 or 2 goals late to push the margin beyond 4 goals. Any tiger supporter have a good feel on how they will start the season? Hardly heard anything from the media either

Would be surprised if we kept the margin under 15 points, our team looks poor at the moment and we don't match up too well against Carlton.

My feeling is it will be nearer 65K than 69K. With Richmond at home 70K would be possible but unlikely.

It's a Carlton home game and their matchgoing core is that bit smaller than ours so a big crowd needs a huge tiger away turnout. We don't really believe we are going to win after a rubbish pre season and won't turn up to an away game in the numbers needed to break 69/70K.

To be honest I have a bad feeling about this game. I would love to be wrong but I think we'll be beaten out the door. Tankers by about 50.

If we win, people will be spewing they didn't turn up.

Sorry to intrude but why isn't big boy Derickx in most of the teams listed here?

He is seen as a pure ruckman (as opposed to a forward who can ruck), and is behind Graham at this point (apparently). Vickery will play as a forward, but can play ruck as well. So no room at this point for X man. Will no doubt get games at some point though.

Incorrect. Daly just said on RFC.com that they expect him to play Ruck/Forward but he is currently injured slightly and hence why he is not in the squad.

Yeah, I just read that in the blog. But essentially, you'd think he is backup for either Vickery or Graham, if one of them goes down, is out of form or needs a rest. And despite what Danny has said, I think he is more of a backup ruckman, with Post and Vickery the preferred options to play the Fwd/Ruck role.

To be honest I think his mobility and around the ground marking so far from what I have seen looks like it will end up being streaks ahead of Graham. Graham is a pretty shit tap ruckman so I also think that he will overtake him eventually....not such a big call because Graham is fairly average.
