Dick move by him and this speaks volumes about us as a club that has a history of getting ahead of itself.

The ball was in our court to bury these campaigners, who we've let bully us for the last few years (bar last years game of course), especially in light of all the garbage involved with the self-entitled, classless individual that is adam treloar. Christ I can't stand him. We should have put him and the rest of the team in the f***** ground.

We needed to make an on field statement for once. Cotchin's understanding of making a statement is making sure the rest of the team feeds him a bunch of cheap possessions in the first 2 mins of play. And then he couldn't even follow it up when he had the chance to kick an easy goal from 35m out with little to no angle shortly after that. And now of course this mistimed sledge. So embarrassing.

Cotchin is just so richmond. Incapable of standing up and making a statement when it matters most.

He can run laps of my backyard. Each one will only take him about ten seconds but come the middle of February the Sir Walter Buffalo is lush - heaps of padding for fragile veterans. And once a week he can mow the lawn while he is at it.

This doesn't make any sense. What is your place got to do with AFL grounds? The grounds are still hard under foot in feb.

I remember at the Cocktail Night I went to last season, I remember it was mentioned by someone that they had 3-4 gameplans depending on the scenario of the match. If true, it would explain why the players have no idea what is expected in certain scenarios, especially when there are so many options.

I personally believe that we should revert back to our 2010-2011 game plan of running and playing on at all costs. Sort of like the Eagles last, we had to compensate for the lack of quality defence for all out attack. Now, we are relying on our defence to win games. All well and good doing so, but you also need to score as well. That's why Ross Lyon will never be a premiership coach. You can shut down your opposition from scoring, but even if they only kick 7, you still have to kick 8 to win.

A free flowing game will suit us far more than our current chip chip stuff, considering we cannot play possession football with players like Grigg, Brandon Ellis, Taylor Hunt etc in the side whose kicking skills are average. Possession football means a slow game plan that requires good kicking to maintain control on the game. Too many times we let ourselves down with poor disposal and get scored against on the turnover. Also factor in the slow movement and it gives opposition time to flood back and clog up our forward line.

Playing an attacking game might mean we open ourselves up defensively, but it allows our forwards more time and space to operate, puts the opposition under pressure and allows us to exploit mismatches.

I agree to a certain extent, but it does expose us to turnover ( because we are good at doing that) and it shows in the amount of score per turnover in our 2 games as we try to be a little more inventive and aggressive in our play. Imo I think the coaches play this way as they realise we simply cant kick the ball well enough. Coaching issue, yes, but they are playing the deck they are handed.

I believe the players are not fit and suggest that in the later part of the game they were all suffering from severe fatigue which influenced their mental and physical ability to with stand pressure and follow plans .
Hampson was hobbling around early in the game and was vital in a number of incidents late in the game . Sloppy ruck contest gave them a free kick and subsequent shot at goal and then the final one where he clearly did not make the contest . Hunt was cooked all game as was Grigg.

That ruck free to gault wasn't even close to a free. That was going on ALL night, and then to pluck it at that time? hampson was getting that done to him nearly every contest, yet no free. the fitness point is valid, but that free wasn't.

Acknowledged that I didn't think it justified a free kick in the game day thread at the time . The fact that he was out on his feet meant that he was getting entangled in contests and therefore gave the ump a easy out .

2. Having surgery on the advice of your clubs medico's whilst contracted to GWS , prior to trade being completed and without GWS's knowledge lacks class .

jack had a good point last night. Everyone focuses on two games, the GC game and Fridays game, yet completely ignore all the other close games we have won....funny that.

Reason being, the one winnable game we lost to freo would have given us a top 4 birth & a minimum of 2 games in September. Instead, we bundle out first week. In such an even contest, teams must ensure to win games that they are suppose to. We have a tough draw and I don't see us winning 15 games to make finals. Pies loss will cost us come September (if we make it)!

And 'everyone who knows him says he's all class' is such a fallacious argument. Of course all his mates are going to say yep he's a great bloke, none better. And before you try to tell me that my argument about the questionable business dealings is as unfounded as your 'all his mates say he's a good bloke' contention, see TRIB's above post re: unauthorised surgery in Tasmania. Collingwood is up to their neck in illegal contract dealings and we're all sick of it. There's two sets of rules in the AFL. The AFL's rules, and Collingwood's rules. Now jog on.

I can't be bothered watching that video but if Lloyd is questioning Cotchin as captain, that's laughable. Lloyd's record as captain is efin shite. He's not a captain's arseh*le. Disregard anything from him on leadership.

That one training session a few of us went two a week before the season started when they were supposed to play an intraclub, but instead did training drills, this sort of crap happened all day. Rance lost his s*** a few times because we didn't know how to set up defensively. I totally expected us to f*** up this badly sooner or later. We are not a well coached side!
