Anyone else been following the price of Rick Hart's CPR shares?

Looks like his investment and business smarts are up there with his capabilities of leading an AFL club.

(cue muppets talking about off-field "success" and overlooking choices of crap administrators, crapper coaches, even crapper players, and the crappest recruiters and list managers)

P.S. - Hart, Schwab and Smart out now! Enough is enough!

In defence of smart i don't he has ever been able to do his job without interference.

Didn't Rick sell out to CPR in 2005? Sounds like a smart move rather than a poor one. What's your point caller

Riding some lame arse agenda that the president is to blame for the poor results this year?

Perhaps its true in the sense that he may have listened to this type of crapola against the last coach.

Re: Rick Hart must fall on his sword

Well, if no one else will say it I will. Your a fracking moron. Yes, Donkey, I mean you.

For the record, Smart is in charge of drafting you tosspot. Yep, Smart is to blame for Palmer, Warnock and Ibbotson. What a son of a bitch. Wasted picks every one of them. Boohoo, Schwab saved us from getting booted from the AFL/given to the Eagles...boohoo.

ps you are simple. And slow.

Bluto, which one of those strikes you as the having the touch of a genius? The only possible one seems to be Ibbotson, as the others surely went where you would expect them to go in the draft. Plus there is a lot of speculation about whether Ibbotson was selected too early in the draft given that he was speculative and very young.

Smart's alround performance includes the selections of Polak, Dunn, Murphy, Drum and L Browne as very high draft picks. A better strike rate with those picks would have a significant impact on any club.

Re: Rick Hart must fall on his sword

To be honest, the share price is doing no worse than Harvey Norman.

Hahaha....what's the point of this thread? Does that mean there will be "closing down" sale and we'll be able to get Plasma TV or a Double-Door fridge for half the price?

I disagree. CPR is in a bit of a death spiral. Not that it really matters. Uncle Rick doesn't have much say I don't think.

Setting all time lows fairly regularly versus, not:

Some of those looked like good picks in the first twelve months. Polak looked a star in the making in 2002 and 2003, and Murphy kicked something like 73 goals in his first season for Souths.

Does the fact that they went backwards say more about Phil Smart or the way the club develops young talent? The fact that we've only turned one draftee into a match winner in 14 years suggests it might be the latter considering how many players have looked really good in their first couple of seasons at the club.

Surely the fact that Ibbo has turned out so good after people thought Smart chose him too early is exactly the touch of genius you're looking for?

Only at Freo could the recruiting manager pick a gun and still be questioned about whether the draft pick he used was too high.

this is so spot on

talent identification is not the issue with us, it's what we do with it when we get it that seems to be the problem

schammer could also be added to that list

Yep, in fact got even better responses than I hoped. Will only respond to my favourites though.
So we need to sack our President because his company's share price is going down. Right. Got it.
Nope, I think the club's failure for the past five years is a better reason. Used the shares as an excuse to bring it up, and to get better responses.
For the record, Smart is in charge of drafting you tosspot. Yep, Smart is to blame for Palmer, Warnock and Ibbotson.
Would respond with all our disappointing draftees but I don't have a spare few weeks. By the way it's much more sensible to judge draftees when they've at least had a few seasons, not at age 19.

Excellent point, still think both deserve their share of the blame and both are crying out for change.

Amazing some people can still have faith in something that has failed so consistently for 14 years (or just the past five in the case of those who haven't been there since the start).
