Yeah as frothies said, good idea for a thread... so long as there isn't too much googling going on. :p

Also:
2 Fathers and 2 sons went fishing, and each caught 1 fish each. But they only came home with 3 fish. Why?
Had to think for a second but pretty straight forward
Here we can post riddles and brain teasers to keep us occupied if we need some mental stimulation. One of my personal fav's is:

I am holier than God,
More Evil than the devil,
The poor have me,
The rich envy me,
Who Am I?

I am Higher than god
I am lower than Satan
But if you eat me you die.....

Answer?

I've got one..

2 identical doors; each guarded by identical looking guards.
1 door leads to heaven; 1 door leads to hell.
The guard in front of the door leading to heaven will always tell the truth.
The guard in front of the door leading to hell will always tell a lie.

Assuming you want to enter heaven, you have 1 question to ask either of the guards to find out which door to enter.

There is only one correct question to ask.

What is it?
K, let's hear the answers fellas.

Hahaha.

Could you imagine parents reading that version of The Hobbit to their kids?

lol
The last one is time.
Now, this depends on how you interpret the opening line...
This thing all things devours
Does that mean "this thing devours everything" (your interpretation) or "everything devours this thing" (my interpretation)?

On second reading, if it did mean "everything devours this thing" then it would be worded "This thing all things devour" (singular, not plural on "devour"). So I guess your right, otherwise water seemed a pretty good answer.

*bump*. I love riddles. Here's another personal favorite of mine:

Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?
