How can no one have mentioned Gladys Knight & The Pips - Midnight Train To Georgia?

Probably one of the most famous, if not the most famous "train" songs ever.

That Star Maker Machine blog has a run of train songs at the moment including the Kinks "Last Of The Steam Powered Trains".
Love the album that Kinks song is from too.

Lots of contributions coming in from various sources there.
Didn't know so many songs existed about trains. Today they have Cassandra Wilson with her version of "Last Train To Clarkesville". Completely different take on the song.

Also Los Lobos from their Kiki Album 'Kiko', That Train Dont Stop Here Anymore and The Velvet Underground's 'Train Around The Bend'.
