Fingers crossed!

What is that about X Man's hip & that he was now training again- I didn't know he was in re-hab & had read on the main board that he trained thru the break in the gym & was doing well.

I heard Ellis had hip surgery and was on a restricted running program for about the first 2 weeks of the pre-season. So should be in full training now.

Good news about Cyril. How much more balanced will our midfield be when we have fit Hodge, Burgoyne, Mitchell, Sewell, Ellis, Rioli, Shiels, Smith, Young, Savage, Birchall, Lewis etc to choose from.

I think the key for us this year is whether Shoey can step up and hold down CHB. I think he can. If he does it strengthens our defence considerably. If he doesn't I would even think about playing Hodge off the half back line again just to sure us up a bit. Wont miss him too much with the midfielders listed above ready to go.

I think I may also put an early punt on Cyril to take home Charlie this year. I think he has it in him. If you don't believe me just watch his highlights package from the game against the doggies this year on youtube. Outstanding.

I don't think Cyril gets the weight of possessions required for the Brownlow. Thats not to say that he couldn't be one of the best or most damaging players in the league; just that he doesn't get hold of the ball enough (yet) to be noticed 40 times a game.

I don't think weight of possesions is the key. Swan was way ahead of Judd in that area this year, Ablett was way ahead of everyone the two years before he won the Brownlow. I think it's flashiness that catches the umpires' eyes, and Cyril has it on that count. If he consistently wins 25 or so touches in the midfield, and damages the opposition with them, he'll be a strong chance.

He's goooorn.

Just sit back and watch.

Bugger pre season hype it just pisses me off.

Actions, actions and more actions are what I want to see.

I tingle when I read/hear/see anything about Rioli....

2011... Bring it On!

Good news. Would love to see Bailey, Hodge, Burgers and Rioli all fit and startiing in a centre bounce situation.

Agreed C-L-A; then, after 5 minutes & 3 clearances, he can swing forward & we can have a Franko / Roughy / Rioli Forwardline!

Good news. Would love to see Bailey, Hodge, Burgers and Rioli all fit and startiing in a centre bounce situation.

Bailey wins the tap, straight down to Hodge, matrix weaves a would-be tackler, handballs behind his back to Burgoyne who runs backwards into space, chips to Rioli who takes the mark one-handed, dodges a tackler, sidesteps another, runs away from a third and sneaks the kick in to FRANKLIN on the burst. Franklin drops the mark :p, but is first to recover and snaps it to the square....ROUGHY!!!!! takes the big pack mark.

2m out, directly in front, you can see the pressure build up on the young man as he stumbles awkwardly in towards goal....IT's HIT THE POST!

No, wait - the umpire didn't see it and he's awarded a goal. Hawthorn win the 2011 Premiership! Collingwood robbed by the umpires!

:D

Sorry, what?

Gorn? What you say?

He's just saying the press puts the mozz on our boys when they print stuff like this.

P#ss OFF MOZZZZZZZ.

I think the club should look at training ALL the guys with a space suit, with ankle shock absorbers, knee, hip and shoulder braces. They could fit a state of the art adjustable oxygen tank for high altitude effect too.

Hmm. They'd actually get pretty fit running with this gear on. Safe too. Must immediately write to the club.

Yep what he said. Talk them down and then if they have a good season heap on the praise. But only after the fact.

Sorry, what?

Really hoping Burgoyne's disposal is better than that this season...

Does anyone have any news on Cyril signing a new contract?

I'm sure we are working on it, but would like to know how far progressed it is.

Sheedy and GWS skulking around makes me nervous...

Not sure on his contract, but touch wood, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would lured by money. Happy environment with friends/family seem to be better motivators for him.
