I think the public persona of Chopper, was mostly perpetrated by a perverse media, and Chopper himself. This was a far cry from the real and sadistic Chopper mate.
There was no honour with this man, not amongst his criminal circles, not amongst the broader community.
Well that's just not true. I know someone who did time with him, if he was on your side you had nothing to worry about. Other criminals didn't like him because he truly was a psychopath and they didn't know where they stood but that's because they hadn't gained his trust. Who gives a shit what the community thought of him? He won because he died of natural causes, in his line of work that's a miracle in itself. RIP Chop! I wish I'd bought one of those terrible paintings now!
