Here's hoping the moron who did this (who's probably pretty proud of himself) gets the hiding he deserves, be it in jail or from the street.

That's bloody awful if it's true.
No mention on the 1 O'Clock news on the ABC. They did say the guy who did it had been charged with assault and bailed to appear in April. However if Hooksey has died I'd think he'll be re-charged and remanded in custody pretty quickly.

Dont normally post on the cricket board, but what a terrible loss.
I was a huge Hookesy fan, ever since I was a kid and especially after he came out to one of our trainings and helped all us youngsters. Cricket on fox wont be the same with out him.
Hate to think what his family and closer friends are going through.

Heard from someone that works at the Herald Sun. Reliable enough source. Apparently, an obituary has already been submitted. I hope the source is wrong and he pulls through but it doesn't look good.
