from all the conjecture, Hookes is in trouble and unfortunately may not pull through. Given the mentioned circumstance, the scum won't be up for murder, but merely manslaughter, and be out within 5 - 7 years

...

Baggygreen still says he's critically ill...

From Yahoo @ 11:49am
"Magistrate Peter Couzens granted Micevic bail on condition that he report to Keilor Downs Police Station three times a week, reside at a St Albans address, surrender his passport, and accept no work as a crowd controller or visit any licensed premises."

Steady ... it was a fight outside a pub involving a bouncer. Don't jump to conclusions.

Don't have to, the insident took place up the road from the pub with Hookes himself set upon by a group after earlier trying to brake up a fight. I feel there will be more people charged over this.

David Hookes is the very reason i started follwing cricket. Remember as a young kid watching him in his first test(?) smashing the bowling over the boundry line for 6's and 4's. Please don't let this be true.

"Family still holding bedside vigil" according to 3AW 3pm news. He is still listed as being in a critical condition.

As good a bit of news as we could hope for, I suppose.

This doesn't add much - but I've been told that the family will switch off the life support system tomorrow if it hasn't already been done. This has come from a very good media source, who is also close to the Hookes family.

I am sad and devestated.
As a South Australian I loved Hookesy for his passion for the game and exciting cricket.
I didn't always agree with everything he ever said or did, but I admired the way he played the game.
Something disappeared from SA cricket when he retired and something more so will be missing from cricket and Australian life now that this tragedy has befallen him - whatever the outcome.
Best wishes to all close to David Hookes and his family.
