Reports coming out of the states that Rob Reiner and his wife have been found dead in their mansion.
Variety reporting its being investigated as a homicide (likely stabbed to death)

Princess Bride and Stand By Me are two of my all time favourite movies. This Is Spinal Tap/Misery great too.
When Harry met Sally and A Few Good Men arent my cup of tea but cant deny they are two iconic movies too.

Rob Reiner directed so many classic movies of my childhood and teenage years. A visionary ahead of his time who focused on the substance of great scripts and storytelling with natural dialogue whilst showing great versatility in his genre of film.

RIP

Heartbreaking. There would've been a point in my teens as I was finding out who directors were that he would've been one of my favourites for that 1984-1990 run. The golden run had a pretty epic flame out with North and he never really came close to capturing that magic again, but he always came across as a genuinely good and earnest guy who I couldn't help but love (even if his social media presence was the epitome of liberal boomer cringe). Was also still good for a fun performance - I really loved seeing him in The Wolf of Wall Street. Tragic that he died in such an awful way.

All in the Family spanned my teens and even though I was not a regular watcher, Meathead was well known part of the pop culture of the time. He became a very accomplished and successful movie maker whose had so many watchable movies that I couldn't name all the ones I've seen and enjoyed.

RIP
