True. But I think the club was genuinely surprised that Tapscott was still around at 18 and duly picked him.

If Darling is available i would be extremely unimpressed if the club passed. A Watts, Jurrah and Darling forward line would almost be the perfect mix of power, endurance and class.

I think they were too, but that just supports the theory that they will take the best player available with their early picks rather than draft for need.

Darling's an interesting one. Looked a future champion last year, but from all reports has stagnated slightly this year before the awful injury he sustained recently. He's certainly a type of player we could use though, so provided he is able to recover from his injuries I could see that happening if he's there at 12.

Speaking of, has anyone heard the latest with Darling?
