Jetta was good today. His kicking was well on.
he’s great offensively when given time & space, but i watched him closely at the game and he’s simply too lazy defensively to continue to persevere with. I’ve been a big advocate for retaining him purely based on his field kicking & kicking out but personally my patience has run out.

How can you justify leaving Venables in?
Ahchee has been poor for a number of games .
Allen unlucky barrass is back

Vardy isnt afl quality .

Venables gets another game due to perceived talent . I want to pump games into him . Unlike ryan he busts his ass .
If lecras was back it would be venables out for lecras .
I also was some leg speed

Its all going to come down to the ins. You would think JK and Barrass will be close. So most likely Vardy and Schofield out.

Venables looked gassed but they may give him another go depending on what they do with Ryan.

Simmo said all of Barrass, JD, JK and Lecca could be available to play. JD and JK very close apparently and if not this week then next week they will surely play.
Excuse me

I need a minute

I agree about Ah Chee being dropped, but you can't carry promising but unfit players like Venables at this crucial stage of the season. I'd rather bring in a Partington who is more mature, match hardened and has been getting consistently good numbers for East Perth.

In: JK, Barrass
Out: Vardy, Schoey (unlucky after a ripper game)

Could do something with Ryan or Petch for Venables, but happy to back him in. Gov to the back.

Think Schoey was way better today than what Barrass offers most of the time, so would much rather Barrass comes back via the 2s

I'd like to see Ainsworth stay in over Sheed, I think he offers much more on defence, is harder at contesting balls in the air and covers more ground from less time on field.

Sheed is a stoppage player, but we're doing quite well in there at the moment with Shuey, Redden and Yeo our main mids, Gaff, Ainsworth and Hutch rotating through with some others. Hutchings deserves to stay, he's playing quite well.

I like Venables in the team based purely on potential and his skillset being so much different to Ryan's, he's more likely to give coverage at ground level and more likely to stick a tackle.

Vardy will be better for the run but will surely miss for one or both of JK/JD.

To play what role? He ain't getting any midfield time.

Sheed -> Ainsworth
Really! I am not an Ainsworth fan but suggest he was one of our harder edged mids today. He takes the game on and his development is making me rethink my initial dislike on him being drafted.

Venables averages 12 disposal a game in the WAFL this year - obviously injury affected. Partington has averaged 26.7 disposals and four tackles a game. He's also kicked 7.10 from his nine games. Surely we could do with a guy like that against Collingwood who have lots of smallish runners.

I cant see Partington getting a go when they said they dont want to play mids as forwards. Venables is more of a HF that can pinch hit in the middle if needed. If he gets dropped which is probable it will be for Ryan, Lecras or Petrucelle

All valid points bunky, I just don't think the MC rate him?

if Parto plays its as a midfielder and would probably replace Ainsworth but he would also be behind Sheed in that respect.

Venables is there as a genuine forward that can play a bit midfield time. Guys like Ryan and Petrol are vying for his spot.

Drop Ainsworth before Venables? No chance.
