I was suprised not to see a honour thread on Harvey so I thought if it's ok i'd make a thread about the legendary Harvey and his career. Perhaps talk about your favourite moments of him or post up his achievments ect.:)

I guess there are no threads on such a topic because everyone just already knows how good he is.

My fav moment - 2005 quialifying final against the crows at AAMI. Owned the ground that night.

His seasons in 1997 & 98 were one of the best ever by a player averaging 30 touches a game simply amazing deservedly winning back to back brownlows.

Being a Perth boy, it was an honour to be there for his 350th game, and how proud I was of the boys to get up over the Eagles in Perth for him. It was a sensational afternoon.

Pity it rained all the way home! :p

I can not remember who it was against but I think it was 97. Harvey collects the ball in the middle, starts funning towards our forwards, encounters a wall, turns, fakes a handball and starts running the other way. The opposition start going with him towards our back line, Harves goes with them, turns on a dime, they keep running away, and he breaks through, clear, running on his own into our 50. Not sure what happened next because it was so ridiculously ballsy and pure genius, we were all laughing so hard.

We may not have had the best results, but we have had some of the best players to watch.

How would he go in rugby? I am sure it has been done to death.

Cheeez.......I could write for 3 hours on my favourite Robert "The King of Kings" Harvey. Off the top of my head, I recall playing Carlton on a Friday night at the MCG, would have been around 98 or 99. Harves got the prune around halfback and dodged about 3 blokes, Fraser Brown has Harves in hs sights about 20m upfield and sets himself to lay a bone jarring tackle, The King simply shrugs off Fraser and goes on with it.

His goal in 1997 from the boundary against the Eagles in Perth. He baulked around Paul Symmons I believe, and then kicks one from about 40m out right on the boundary in torrential rain!

I like to think of myself as a man's man, but I fear I will genuinely shed a tear when the King calls it a day.

LET'S WIN THIS MAN A PREMIERSHIP IN 08. THANK YOU ROBERT HARVEY, YOU HAVE MADE BEING A SAINTS SUPPORTER ONE HELL OF A JOURNEY!

i loved to watch the opposition tackle him, then he'd shake his hips to lose them every time. maybe he'll be on dancing with the stars when he retires lol
