That's not news...it's common knowledge...everyone knows that the Egurls are gonna be hopeless.

Egurls are in quicksand and long gone.

Has anyone also noticed when listening to 6PR that Brad Hardie thinks towards the same tune as well...Brad is now always taking aim at Woosha and making sarcastic remarks and pot shots towards the Egurls and their list. Finally Brad has opened his eyes and saw the light.

Fantapants likes Harvey, there's no secret in that !!

I like Harvey too !
Worsfold not so hot for, but he was good to watch on a footy field !

The Eagles look like they're just holding on these days. No Judd, Cousins and only one Dean Cox is hurting them big time. Sadly for the Eagles, Shaw is pretty much spot on and I'm sure a lot of their fans know it too.

everyone know that worsfold scammed a premiership by inheriting some special players, his coaching is defensive and withought imagination, and since he has been in charge there have been very few A-grade youngsters developed..... im stoked he is going to re-sign for west coast... will set them back another 5 years :D

Dreaming.

Interesting place for an Eagles thread...

Some of Freo's first and second year players are coming along very, very nicely, surely that's more interesting than the suggestion that West Coast's aren't?

BTW, of West Coast's 2006 premiership winning 22, 11 including the AFL's best midfielder were not on the list when Worsfold arrived in 2001. He certainly inherited some good players, but beyond Cousins and a first year Kerr there weren't exactly a plethora of positive comments towards the 2001 West Coast list.

Considering half the article was about Harvey; why?

Oh yes, and aren't those 11 apart from Judd just absolute guns and superstars of the competition these days?

proof is in the pudding, waters, butler, rosa etc etc are all hacks. the only player worsfold has brought in who is any good is lecras and even then roger would make him his bitch.... come to think of it, so would taz

I can't believe eagles should be this bad. With their drafting over the last 2 years:
2007 - Kennedy (was a top 10 pick) & 3, 13, 20, 22
2008 - 2, 18, 20, 36, 52
Then this year they are headed for another maybe 3 in the top 20.
Forget gold coast's draft concessions that is some seriously good draft picks.

So I figure it can only be one of 4 things:
1) they botched the draft picks.
2) a bad coach
3) they are tanking
4) unfortunately their pain will be short lived

With those draft picks they should be playing alot better than what they are.

Who suggested they were? Find me a premiership side with 22 players as good as Chris Judd. Opinions of the likes of Selwood, Waters etc. aside, Worsfold took the club to 6 consecutive finals series, let's not pretend the likes of Franklin, Murphy & Griffen were able to be selected by West Coast.

The 'proof of the pudding' is where West Coast go from here. Worsfold has the runs on the board taking the 2001 rabble to the 2006 flag. We have a lot of young players, some good, some great, some mediocre. If Harvey leads his young list to a flag and we dwell in the bottom 4 for years to come then Shaw will be seen to be a prophet. If Worsfold leads his young list to a flag then Shaw will be shown to be an arseclown. I personally think the future looks pretty bright for both clubs considering how crap they both currently are.

Draft picks don't become stars straight away. Most players take three years or more before they really start to show a lot. LeCras has started to play very well this year, in his 5th season. Hurn has started to play well this year in his 4th season.

It's the same with the Dockers younger players- for example Duffield in his forth year has been excellent lately.

Pretty happy with the players we have picked up over the last few years. Past history tells us that a few of them won't make it, and hopefully a few will become stars of the competition. Too early to say on any of them at this stage.

It's tough in this competition to stay competitive for too long, and our downturn has been quicker than expected due to the loss of two superstars in particular. We're very much rebuilding and Woosha's new two year deal reflects that- if we aren't improving by that stage he won't be coaching any more. But he deserves the chance to rebuild the side after winning a flag, as Mark Harvey deserves a chance to build the Dockers side, and I'm sure he will do that.

Seems like we're building at a similar time to your mob now, interesting that we were both contesting in 2006. It isn't an instant process to put together a side capable of winning a flag, plenty of teams hang around the top 8 for years without really challenging, and it needs a lot of things to go right. If we're both up the top end of the ladder in 5 years, we could actually have a derby Grand Final this time. I wonder who Robert Walls would be going for? ;) He probably wouldn't watch.

yeah, as if our rivalry needed to get any bigger, if we are both building towards success at the same time, imagine what its going to be like in 3 years time :thumbsu:, could end up like the geelong stkilda rivalry a few years back, which is coming to a climax this year.. good times ahead

Half of the article was, muppet.

You did. You said that 11 premiership players were drafted by Worsfold. I am saying they were pretty much all crabs. You can't sit there and rely on Worsfold's drafting record, when his actual drafting record is really pretty poor.

While I may agree with some of the comments made by Shaw, I wish ex coaches / officials of the club would just Shut the F..k up:mad: All it does is create a distraction and is something the club does not need. Who cares about a comparison between 2 club coaches that will finish bottom 4, what purpose does it serve ?
Harves is doing a great job :thumbsu: and I could not care less about Woosha and the pathetic mob up the road.

Agree 100%.

Just STFU Shaw - who cares what you think, and who gives a toss about whatever that lot are or are not doing?

Constructive.

As I said, twice, the thread is all about West Coast. Half the article could be about pineapples, it's still irrelevant if no one is discussing it.

No. I said he drafted half a premiership winning 22. Show me where I said he drafted 11 guns, or in fact any premiership side containing 22 guns. I disagree that 'they were pretty much all crabs' but assuming they were, he must be a master tactician to coach a team with 11 crabs to a flag...:)

Worsfold drafted what was required for West Coast to win the premiership, therefore I would suggest his drafting record is actually pretty good. You think its poor, and that's your prerogative, but I'd love to know what you think he should have done? Drafted 11 Chris Judds and won every flag since 2002?
