heya guys, curious, has there been much talk about warnock for your team? rumours a rife that robbie has picked carlton as his club of choice, but im not so certain, and i am not the only one, i believe if stkilda offered him the right price and had talks with freo he could very easily end up a saint. i guess the main question is would you want him. i would have thought yes, owing to the fact that michael gardiner is surely finished, king while having played well this year is 30, rix is.... well i personally cant see him playing a role in the future, blake isnt really a ruckman, and kosi hasnt been able to stay on the park long enough. unless im missing someone i could see you guys chasing robbie pretty hard.

discuss

P.s i hope you get over top of the hawks this week. saints are definetly my team this finals series, and good luck to robert harvey in hopefully his last two games..... champion

Cheers mate. Not sure about our intention to go after Warnock. We picked up McEvoy in the 2007 draft, he's going alright.

At most we'd offer a second round pick, which would be 28-29 now wouldn't it? Which might not be enough.

It's not a bad idea, I mean if we're gonna take a KPP with our second pick, we may as well trade it for Warnock.

1st on a KPP back, 2nd for Warnock and 3rd and 4th round picks on mids.

forgot about mcevoy but for some reason i thought that he was a KPP

pick 28 wouldnt do the job. but i would think that warnock would be an ideal fit for the saints. im not sure what your salary cap would be like but you would have to better carltons deal and try and convince him to not go to their evil empire.

i guess it depends on how badly lyon wants a ruckman. thomas screwed you over with his "ruckman arent important" ideas

Oh Thomas hated ruckmen! I was thinking for Warnock, 2nd round draft pick with someone like Fiora, who will probably play no further part in the StKilda plan. Thoughts?

Fiora wil probably play no further part in anyones plans. Why on earth would Freo want him - we have a youth policy and just got rid of all the old useless ones. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't he had a few shady off-field issues as well?

you know i wouldnt be against that, although i would be happier if you were to chuck in clinton jones instead.

it would be funny to see fiora and pavlich in the same lineup given that aaron probably has nightmares about pavlich, given that he has been chastised for not being better than him his whole career (unfairly)

the thing is, is that carlton have pick 24, so you would have to beat that somehow

Fiora is a dud FootyEater. And he's an old dud at that. Why do you think he's no longer in the Saints plans? First rounder or nothing. If the Saints off-load Dal Santo they might have something more equitable to trade for.

Don't think we have the goods to do the trade.
Pick 13/14/15/16 would be out of the question.
Actually there is WA boy Clint Jones.

i like jones actually, but his skills let him down a little, but if you were to give your second rounder and jones, that might get the deal done.

or if mundy decides to go a package deal could be organised. i dunno obviously this is all speculation

Too much competition, will cost us too much, not worth chasing.

In terms of ruck stocks, we've also got Luke Van Reenhan and McEvoy developing, they'll both (if we retain LVR) certainly get some game time next year.

Also we've got a 208cm scholarship prospect who we should pick up at the end of the year.

so mcevoy obviously was a ruckman in the TAC cup last year? i thought he was KPP.

yep, it's quite amazing how teams think that their crap players won't get noticed as being crap.

i think sydney may be the smokey. may end up getting kerr, but a ruck would be high on their list given everitt's retirement, room in the salary cap and their reknown game play thriving on ruck clearances.

Mundy is the one I'm interested in.

Supposedly the Saints are interested in Warnock, but doubt we would participate in exchange for a first rounder. Maybe some sort of swap of picks would give Freo what they want.

There appears to be depth at U/18 level, and there's GC17 coming, so if clubs want to trade existing players they will need to be realistic.

well, the longer we here nothing about mundy, i think the more likely it is that he is leaving. the docker want a late first rounder for warnock. the asking price for mundy will be even more. what they get on the other hand maybe a completely different story. your not interested in realeasing montagna are you by any chance

... Freo are playing hardball. They will continue to do so because of the interest. After the year they've had and the need to rebuild next year I can't really blame them. They want warnock to rebuild and he has been impressive.

I reckon we will have a crack at Warnock. Lyon knows the value of ruckmen & personally I think Warnock will be an absolute star. McEvoy/ Warnock would be a very useful combo in 2 years time, McEvoy running forward & Warnock being the new age ruck/midfielder like Cox is.

I like Mundy too but I'd imagine Warnock would be priority #1 unless Kerr is really on the table (I think he'll re-sign).

I would take our 2nd rounder & Clint Jones in a nano second but that won't get the job done & I reckon 99% of Freo supporters would string you up for suggesting that.

More realistic is our 2nd rounder and Jarryd Allen (tall developing forward) or just our first rounder (which will be 13-16- hopefully #16!).

i dont know, i reckon most dockers supporters would not be devestated if that happened considering that carlton are threatening to give us next to nothing, and melbourne would take him in the PSD. if saints offered pick 13-16 you would get yourself a gun ruckman. freo would accept it im sure. the biggest problem for stkilda would be trying to convince robbie to not go to the blues and go to the saints. i hope this happens

Yes Mundy looks the goods. I picked him in my supercoach side this year so i've been following him closely. I reckon he's just about to come ripe. Our first rounder is untouchable imo so i don't think we can get the job done with either of them. I've got big raps for Ben McEvoy, looks to be a real player of the future. McEvoy Armitage Steven, our onballers for the years to come

You forgot Robert Eddy who was most impresive first year and Jarryn Geary, not to mention Jarryd Allen who looks promising.

Id say our future stocks look nice.

a big bodied midfielder, dominates clearances, we are trying eveything we can to keep him, unfortunately it looks as though he is gawn.

He doesn't have the engine to play a full game in the midfield. His skills are average at best.
