Eade will never be an asst. coach or director of coaching or whatever. He's alwasy going to go for the Head Coach role. He has an ego.

What's availabale though - the Crows, Dogs, Melbourne and possibly Port Adelaide? He just left the Bulldogs, Garry Lyon has hinted that he's not what the demons are looking for, and if Primus keeps his job that only leaves the Crows so if he misses that he'll have to assess his options. $300,000+ a year to move to Fremantle as an assistant is a pretty big carrot IMO.

Don't want him, happy with Harves. We are having a rough season, pretty standard for a list that is still being built everyone who is sprouting about replacing Harvey needs to have their head checked.

Harvey is safe for 2012, but it's pretty clear that since Chriss Scott left that the coaching box has lost its mojo. Eade has plenty of experience and is seen as a very good tactician and match day coach so should be on top of the clubs list when looking to add to the coaching panel over summer.

Don't want him at ours. His departure means that the Dogs may be thinking about beers in Bali or wherever they go in three weeks time. Could be good for us.

I wonder who the Pies will drag across the continient 2 weeks before a showdown with WC also? What are the odds for a top 8 finish?

I don't see what difference it makes, if anything eades departure will be an incentive to play better because the guys who weren't great this year won't want to play poorly under 2 different coaches.

Collingwood might leave one or two players in Melbourne but it will be the last time they travel this year so will bring a strong side.

$9 to make the 8. Paying $3.30 this week then on form will be around $2.50 to beat the Dogs so $9 looks about right IMO. Just incase results go against us this week (even though I can't see Swans beating the Saints) it might be worth putting X amount of dollars on Freo to beat North then if we win put 100% of the winnings on us to beat the Dogs. That way you make around 700% profit regardless of the other results if freo beat North and the Bulldogs.

I'm not arguing Eade's credentials, i'm saying that he is not someone to bring in and bolster the team around Harvey, he's never been in that role for starters and he would undermine Harvey.

There are plenty of quality assistant coaches around the league that will be available. Dean Bailey would be a better assistant coach to get than Harvey, he's won a premiership as one.

Neale Daniher is a failed former coach now at the Eagles. Thompson's a successful former coach at the Bombers. Balme's a failed former coach at the Cats. Laidley's a failed former coach at Port.

It can be a reasonable structure to work with, without necessarily undermining the senior coach.

You forgot to mention Chris Connolly at Melbourne. How is that working out? :p

I reckon I'd be more keen for the lot Port have than the lot Melbourne have.

Great comment Clay. I laughed out loud.

To the matter at hand. Yep, go after him. There are all sorts of different arrangements floating around in clubs nowadays in terms of head coach / advisers and whatnot. Rocket would be a valuable addition to Fremantle.

Always enjoyed his comments on ABC radio during games before he went to the Doggies.

Feo need to get on the front foot now or else, the quality assistants will be snaffled up at the Bulldogs, Adelaide, Melbourne.Adelaide are chasing Clarkson as well.
No point waiting till the end of the season review, we all know we have limitations in our coaching dept, and if we start pushing the change the song BS, I will be pissed.

I wouldn't. Don't particularly care about the song changing per se, but the guys who will do that are not the guys I want assessing our coaching weaknesses and how to best address them. In reverse, I definitely would not get Harvey to select our new (if any) song.
