Do you know what's frustrating? Not that we lost to essondon... Not that we lost to the scum after hill's late hit on Young... Not that we're 1 and 5 and kissing 2010 down the drain... what's frustrating is that we know we can do so much better, and we're not.

The following players are being called out. The frustrating thing is we have seen you play well - we know what you are capable of - and you are shithouse at the moment.

Ellis
Sewell
Lewis
Roughead
Osbourne
Murphy

**** these guys have had years in the system. They made me want to vomit tonight. Seriously. Unless these guys step up, they're a better bet that storm for the wooden spoon.

Sewell deserves another week or so to catch up and I'm still worried about Lewis's knock. Otherwise spot on, they were terrible.

I was happy with Birch tonight, but I guess that will always be the way with people on the outside looking in - we will always see things from a different perspective.

In saying that though I would be surprised if anyone popped up & said they saw positives in Laddo's game tonight... He should definitely be added to the Roll, in place of Sewell in my opinion.

Sewell did some great stuff, his kicking really hurt him... shouldn't be on the list though.
Agree that Lewis' knock has put him well and truly out of form, after starting the year pretty promisingly.

hmph. Brown, has been one of our best this year. dont think burch or Ellis derserves to be put on that list just yet.

Birch deserved to be on the list all of last year, but everyone was too busy bashing Murphy to realise. Doesn't mark, tackle, or spoil. And was playing half forward tonight? Surely Moss or Morton is a better fit for that role.

And Ellis was lucky to be in the 08 GF, was 22nd man. Was a fan, but gone off. No upside.

As for Brown, well he was good in Rd 1 this year, but not much other than that. Which hurts, given I named my first-born after him.

Birchall hasn't played a good game for 18 months. Personally, I would trade him.

Ellis is conning everybody that he is a number three draft pick. He still looks like the scrawny kid that joined the club 4 years ago. He is treacle slow and is not the elite kick that we have been led to believe.

What happened at that 2005 Draft Table?

Didn't we take a 2-minute extension for pick #3? If so, who was the other player under consideration? (assuming that we got caught out when Collingwood went Dale Thomas at #2, rather than Eliis - imagine that, Dale Thomas a hawks player, pick #3).

Pendlebury? Kennedy? Or were we conteplating Dowler at #3? Or could we just not believe our "luck" that Ellis was available at #3?

Anyone?

According to Dermie and we were looking at Dale Thomas at #3.

Yep, agreed. Seems to be a consistent message.

So, when Thomas went at #2, why didn't we just take Ellis straight away without blinking (having thought he'd go at #2)?

Did we not rate him? Did we think there was someone else out there? Or, did we feel as though we had to take Ellis because he was still available?

For someone who cried about being put on the trade table (big man did a Cloke and got Daddy to have a sook in the media), apart from the Melbourne match, Brown has been a joke this year. Talks the talk (had 60 minutes to belt Lloyd and didn't), but has been pathetic. Heart and soul of the club? Yeah, that says it all!

Play him Clarko, so when we piss him off to Gold Coast, our compensation is better. Same with Ellis and Osbourne. But no doubt Pelican will just waste the picks anyway!

Dowler
Lisle
Muston
Suckling
Morton

should all be given the next six weeks to prove their worth once and for all. play them regardless of form if their endeavour is there. we'll never get a read on them playing them one, dropping them for five, repeat etc...

im not syaing Birch and Ellis have been playing fantastic far from it, but there are a hell of a lot of players who have been playing a lot worse than the two of them.

Brownie has had one BAD game this year against Geelong, when he had scarlett on him.
he was BOG against melbourne, top five against the dogs and collingwood, and yesterday he was in our top 6-8. he had 6 tackles last night, yes he went missing a lot, but that could be because he was playing back forward back forward back froward all night.
he is one of the few players who look like thye give a dam eavch week.

In the sober light of morning, agree I've been a little harsh on sewell perhaps.

That said, the time when we really need him to stand up (same as Lewis) is now, when Mitchell is out. The only time we won a clearance last night was when Hodge went in the middle.

Agree with calls on Ladson and Birch.

Young - Not bad. Same old issues with poor/weak tackling popping up.
Bateman - Best game of the year. Pretty Good.
Hodge - Brave. Tried too much, but you can't blame him for that.
Osborne - Poor. Footy at the cross-roads. Candidate for a spell at Box Hill.
Sewell - Not his best game. Got plenty of credits in the bank.
Franklin - Good
Guerra - Ok
Stratton - Good
Lewis - Poor
Ellis - Poor
Gilham - Poor, but not the worst.
Ladson - Poor
Murphy - Bad. I often defend him. He was undefendable last night.
Birchall - Ok. Played a better game than his most recent offerings.
Brown - Poor
Rioli - Worst game I've seen him play.
Whitecross - Poor. Not involved enough.
Kayler-Thompson - Poor. Not involved enough.
Renouf - Belted
Roughhead - Disgraceful. Two misses killed us.
Shiels - Poor. Not involved enough.
Schoenmakers - Poor. Not involved enough.

dumb post, where is ladson and birchall.[/quo
Ladson is not even close to tle player he was 2 yrs ago, he is crap atm, sure he is coming back from a bad inury but this is now his 6th game on a row so there is no excuse, birchall has got to go, is half hearted and unaccountable, dont get me started on murphy, he is an embarressment to an AFL footballer. Everytime he went near it the bombers fans i was near were jeering.

Birch has gone backwards as a footballer since his first year I think.

Birch is the same as Ellis and Murphy and Gilham and Laddo. They are all terrible when they are one on one - and they cant use the ball well to get it out of defence. I would sack them all. Stratton and Gibbo are our 2 best defenders already.

agreed with your summary. too many players had a very average game last night, and that has been a similar story this year amongst the likes of osborne, ladson, murphy etc etc

bateman was good last night, but his other games this year have been poor as well

very concerned watching rioli last night, the young man is obviously not fit and seems his condition is a week to week proposition. at his young age, would prefer he spend some time on the sidelines attempting to catch up on his interupted pre-season, i hope he doesnt do further damage playing in the seniors

what is also very concerning is our lack of depth...guys like morton, dowler, muston, tuck, whitecross etc all look sub standard

Ellis - Not up to it, needs to be put up for trade or delisted
Sewell - Out of form, give him a couple weeks before canning him
Lewis - all the talent, plays 1 good game every 4, could be bait unless he pulls his finger out
Roughead - seems lazy with Buddy going well now, didnt chase last night , if someone comes with a good deal i would consider it
Osbourne - hasnt started well
Murphy - DELIST DELIST DELIST, mid season preferably

time for changes down waverley

Is it time for shoenmakers to have a sting at box hill?

i rate him highly but feel at the moment his game awareness is at a level of hampton park 2nds, seems everytime he goes near the ball he doesnt know what to do?

Aren't players supposed to develop and get better at football clubs. Aren't coaches supposedly there to guide them in that process.

I don't think it is the players who need sacking - We NEED to look at the whole coaching staff.

Look at the top teams at the moment. The Swans have Dew as an assistant. The Cats have Nigel Lappin - these are hardened recent premiership players with exquisite skills. Who do we have - John Barker
