A little birdy told Brad Hardie that Roo may miss the game against the Bullies.

Anyone heard the same whispers?

Unfortunately another one here said the injury is worse than the club is letting.

He went for scans yesterday but didn't show any damage.
Stephen Schwerdt said that the club only trusted a couple of radiogists tjat could read the wrays properly and if they say no damage, then no damage.

Roo must past a fitness test Friday arvo to play.

Rodney Eade asked on radio tonight his thoughts on Adelaides injured players:

"Edwards to play, Roo to miss" was his response

Once again Hardie now named Edwards as not to play''definitely wont play''

Fkng hope not
Looks like Porplyzia to make his debut

I'd be surprised if Roo plays this week. Don't be surprised if he have to "manage" him this way for the whole season. Tendonatis is a very tricky thing to manage. Some days you feel great after a long work out but some days you feel the tighness with hardly any workout. It will take time for Roo to overcome this and don't be surprised if you don't see him in the midfield this year because of it.

Rest him this week and hope he is good enough to play in the showdown. If Roo doesn't play then I would like to see Porplyzia make his debut.

Look at the bright side though, if Roo misses this week then he will play his 300th at home :)

And if he misses one more he plays it in Perth

The :D:D:D:Ding swear filter is a great idea now
Round 14 is in Sydney so if Roo misses one it's at home but I thought Round 16 was at home too and then Round 17 was in Perth.
Also, the swear filter makes angry posts look happy. :p

Round 16 even better....we host Kangaroos on Friday Night @ AAMI Stadium.

I heard Edwards has not trained for 2 weeks and I also remember Craig saying that if you miss out on training for more than a week you need to train properly to play.

I don't understand why Porps wouldn't be getting a game...

I mean he is ready made, played well in the SANFL and was taken in the PSD - hence we wanted him on our senior list...

3AW last night were reporting Edwards and Roo both to be out.

However, were Roo to be likely to miss I would have expected to see one of Stevens, Jericho, Maric or Meesen in the emergencies. There's no way Skipworth, Douglas or Porplyzia would be coming in to play FF.

um because they can't find a spot for him yet ?

Porplyzia has not been named in Westies squad this week. Obviously there is an intention for him to play as Roo or Edwards must be in serious doubt.

Thanks for the update.

Sounds like Edwards to me, as if it's Roo, you've still got to shuffle the deck to find a FF - unless we're going from Craig's preferred 4 marking targets to 2?

Why do you have to replace him with another FF type??????

Why not bring in another runner like Porplyzia and rotate your ruckman through the FF line rather than the bench. In this scenario you have McGregor, Hentschel and your ruckman as the 3 talls in the forward 50 making life easier for each other. Then again there is always an option of throwing Rutten forward as well.

I expect Biglands to spend a fair bit of time in the forward 50 tommorrow whether Roo plays or not.

Hey guys, not here to troll...

Take my footy pretty seriously and was wondering about Roo myself.

If he is out (and I think I read on the main board that Eade think he will be, and let's be honest, no-one knows more about a team than the opposition!), how do you plan on kicking a winning score?

I just did some quick sums, and it turns out that Roo, Burton and Perrie have kicked an enourmous 49.3% of your score this season!!!

Ricciuto has had 8, 8, 4 & 7 shots at goal in 4 games, and that will leave a massive hole, will it not?

EDIT: Sorry, the post before mine wasn't there when I started.

That doesn't really mean much these days with the AFC. Eagles have the bye this week so its really out of Skippy and Porplyzia. These days its rare for AFC to announce their real intentions by leaving Crow listed players in their SANFL side unless there is really no chance of them playing (eg Douglas this week)

All season the AFC have not named any of the emergencies in their SANFL sides to play that week. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see who runs out tomorrow.

We have players who are capable of kicking a bag but for various reasons they haven't so far. Kenny will go forward and he is always a chance of kicking a bag especially since he is pretty accurate in front of goals. Hentschel is capable of kicking a bag but hasn't been in great form (time for him to lift) and then we have a lot of midfielders who can pinch in with 1 or 2 goals. Over the years we have relied more on our midfield to kick goals rather than our forward line.

I think we can kick a winning score but it will be tougher than usual

I would give that option some consideration if we were not missing Perrie and Burton as well.

Plan A under this scenario boils down to a down on form Hentschel, McGregor who hasn't played forward yet this year, and Biglands (never the most reliable kick at goal) or Clarke (an even more frightening prospect). Plan B involves disrupting the entire backline by taking the centrepiece out and brining him forward (Rutten). Plan C is to place Thompson or Goodwin at FF in place of Roo, which robs us of even more midfield grunt.

Craig's preferred team is built around a 4 tall forward line, so to go to a 2 tall with a resting ruckman setup is a long, long way from ideal.

Dude nothing this season has been ideal for us. ATM we have more holes than a sinking ship :(
