Let's just say one of our players (such as Krueger) was put on the long term injury list, effectively allowing one of our rookies to play in the home and away system. And for some reason (don't ask ;) ), if elevated, the chosen rookie would have to play.

Who would you elevate?

Many would most likely go with Ryan Nye, given his recent form in the North Adelaide reserves. However, our side is currently jam packed full of BP/HBF's.

Hinge in my opinion would be also be in contention. Whilst his form has not been great, he's got great pace, can tackle well and his attack on the ball is superb. He's arguably our strongest rookie and has a body capable of playing AFL.

IMO Andrews is very unlikely to make it at AFL level. Hasn't come on yet and his skills are still a big worry. Griffen is obviously not ready for the rigors of AFL levle, but his sheer mobility and skills may come in handy in the future.

So, if one rookie was to be elevated during the season, who would it be?

So far none have done enough to warrant inclusion. Griffen is the type of player we could do with right now but

M Stevens
S Stevens
Bock
Jericho
Watts
Meeson
Maric
Gibson

are all ahead of him for that posistion right now. If one of Hinge and Nye's form improves so that they are dominating the SANFL than we should upgrade them but right now none of them deserve a game.

Haven't seen any of them play. But I was under the impression that Nye was the most likely type and being a smaller player should be the one most likely to be ready in the short term.

With no injury crises its all very hypothetical. There's a whole batch of players on the main list waiting to get a game.

Sorry if I misinformed you guys. The stipulation is that for some reason, the rookie elevated would HAVE TO play.

Seeing that it didn't work out, I'll change the aim of the thread...

Try to answer these questions.

Q1. If this was the end of the season, who would you elevate out of the four?
Q2. Also, who would you delist out of the four?
Q3: Who would you keep on?
Q4: Who do you feel is most important to our team in the future?
Q5: Who do you believe will make it, even if given another year as a rookie?

Of course it's hard to judge their performances given its early, but it would be interesting to see the Board's views on who will make it, who won't, and why. :)

Nye, maybe Hinge

Q2. Also, who would you delist out of the four?

Andrews

Q3: Who would you keep on?

Hinge, Griffen

Q4: Who do you feel is most important to our team in the future?
Hinge, Griffen

Q5: Who do you believe will not make it, even if given another year as a rookie?

Andrews, although he can't have another year as this is his second.

Lets see how they go in the SANFL seniors first. Time is something we have with these kids.

At present none - like Parker these players get hyped up becuase we want them to be successful.

But after just a handful of games with them all playing reserves hardly think there's a convincing argument to support any of them currently.

But lets wait and see how they develop through the season - if their good enough they'll be playing league and well.

This seems a bit at odds with the rest of your answers. ;)

Nah, its not his fault. I accidently made an error in that question. Take out the "not" and he got it spot on.

Just so you guys know the main aim of this thread is to see what people's early expectations are, and at the end of the year, we can compare our latter thoughts to our early ones.

My answers:
1. Ryan Nye - The most consistent so far, and from the pre-season I knew he was capable to playing AFL. Very clean, a nice mover and has the ability to play tall. The body of Doughty but the coolness of Hart. :)

2. Rowan Andrews - It's early days but he needs to start dominating SANFL games or his AFL career is teetering over the cliff. Got the height, not the body. Got the aggression, not the skills. :o

3. John Hinge and Jonathan Griffin - see below.

4. Jonathan Griffin - If he can play as a roaming forward (given his superb mobility) despite being 200cm, he would be a valuable assett. However, we need him to improve his marking if he can offer us a marking target up forward (and we're currently desperate for these).

5. Jonathan Griffin and John Hinge - Early days yes but the both have special abilities that most of our senior list lacks. Hinge has a great attack on the ball as well as pace, whilst Griffen has superb mobility and skills for someone his height.
