Ordered my copy. Who else will be purchasing one?

Very much looking forward to it.

On a side note...

Does anyone else agree that the cover looks like absolute dog shit. Surely someone with some decent artistic/typography skills could have done a better job.

Well when it's been rushed out before the smell of his sweaty body has left the locker room, what do you expect? ;)

Don't think I will buy one. I will wait for someone who puts a great deal of thought into it, and does some decent amount of research and comes up with some of the top photo's over his career, and interviews other players/past coaches for anecdotes. I think this is absolutely a greedy little grab for bucks and will be the quality of a home brand pack of weetbix.

Yes ordered mine yesterday over the phone from Crow Mania.

First 500 are signed by the great man himself. :thumbsu:

Get over yourself love, this book would have been in production for a number of months now and he would also have had an inkling that he was going to retire this season as well. So to say it was a greedy little grab for money is wrong.

Poor form Jenny, especially when you have NFI what’s in the book or what is actually covered. We all understand you don’t like Mark Ricciuto but FFS get over yourself you soup puss of a person.

Errrrrr yep whatever, I am sure you have an identical feeling when Mark Bickleys book came out?

What research is needed, Roo tells his story over i am sure many months.

I have come to the conclusion reading your posts on Roo this year, you don't like him and will do all you can to undermine the crows greatest ever player.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

the cover is like the book itself...no direct quotes from the roo, all "mark thinks this, mark says that"...and very light on in the football revelations/insight department.
disappointing read, particularly given the interesting subject...

God you are a bitter old bugger sometimes.

I agree, I havent read the book, just the bit they had in the paper the other day and it did nothing for me.

Didnt look very professional.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I am not trying to undermine him - just the greedy pricks trying to make a quick buck by putting out a sub-standard book on one of the greatest players of the game - I think he deserves better! I will absolutely buy the book on Roo that is well researched, and well presented. I probably want a coffee-table book I think - something worthy of the great man rather than a cheap, paperback crap version. Seriously - look at the cover! And I want his story told BY HIM. I think someone needs to interview other greats in the game that have come up against him, and hear what they have to say. And I want the great photographs of the man as he battles his way through a pack of players, takes a great grab and kicks a goal. I want his fellow team mates interviews and anecdotes that nobody has heard before, be told. Hell, maybe I should write the damn thing myself!

I may not like the man, but I have HUGE respect for the footballer.

In other words you want to hear about that story in the showers involving Matthew Robran?! :D :p

Roo wrote some of this book and had been working on it for quite some time according to Fitzgerald on Nova.

Can't wait to read it. However am a little baffled by the cover.

very well said :thumbsu:

FWIW will hopefully be getting it soon

LMAO :thumbsu: - Yep, now you're talking! :D

For those who think this is about my personal feelings on Roo you are wrong. IF Roo has something to do with this book, I am disappointed for him. I think someone has given him the wrong advice and it's all about making the quick buck rather than giving the fans something more substantial. I personally believe he should have waited to release a quality product that many more would purchase. How do I know it's not quality? Look at the bloody cover! I think he should have spent the next two months with the author, and produced something far better that would have gone just nicely in Christmas stockings.

Yup, the cover proves that no effort was put into its content.

Conclusively might i add.
