According to SEN, St. Kilda has been advised by Lyon that he will not be fulfilling his contract with them. Lyon offered a four year deal with Fremantle.

Awesome get for Freo. Not sure how fans feel, but from my POV Ross Lyon is proven quality and a class above Harvey overall.
Feel bad for Harves but looking forward, what a great day for Freo supporters.

I like Mark Harvey and am very dissapointed he ais gone under these circumstances.
Ross Lyon is a impressive coach. he is tactically much better than Harvey.Must say that the club has really displayed a ruthless streak in this matter.
Perhaps this is avoid thing...."...........time will tell

Congrats are in order.
He's the best strategic coach in the AFL, if you get some luck with injuries and all the players buy in, you'll be very tough by the second half of 2012.

Yeah they will be mighty relieved that the bloke who led them to 2 grand finals is leaving.
But we will have to watch his boring brand of footy.
Not happy we got Lyon yes he has shown the ability to get teams up there but i cant watch st kilda games they were soooooo boring.
I had massive concerns on Harveys ability from things he said an did this year.
Still abit harsh to sack him though, should of got 1 more year to see how he went without injuries.
Obviously they believed alot of last year was to do with Chris Scott.
Still in shock this came out of nowhere.
Sure they had to jump quickly to get Lyon but they still cant be sure whether Harvs could of improved on 2010 or not.
Would of preferred to give Harvs 1 more chance
Then end of next year who knows Malthouse might be free to coach us or maybe Watters.
Starting to agree with the Heave the Steves guy.

This is pleasing because he obviously wants to coach Fremantle (if he is actually coming) because he's still got a year at St Kilda and if he also knocked back an incredibly lucrative offer from Melbourne then more the better for us, he sees the potential of the squad we have and knows he can bring success, finally, to the Fremantle Football Club..
