ok so i like ross , as most do but was shocked to see barlow start as sub again, surely it would have been better to start him on a ground where contested possesion is so important, to hopefully give us a better start , i didnt watch the first half , but he had 20 odd possesions in the second half but we were so far behind , i dont know but would have thought it would have been better to start him and rest him in the last quater when the game opens up...

Its called playing it safe with players coming back from injury.
Its a long season we want him for all of it.
Not to be rushed back play a game or 2 then be forced out again.

My biggest gripe is Dawson fullback instead of Silvagni.
And 3-4 talls in forward line when none of them are true tall forwards, there just tall mobile players.

yeah i understand that but i didnt say play him for the whole game , just thought with the match at the SCG, contested possesion is important so a good start would have been good and barlow would have been into it early giving some midfeild pressence which we were killed at in the first half, then sub him out for mello or pearce ...

Fair call as we win this game if Barlow plays the whole game.
As a sub there declaring he is right to go and hardly missed any pre season anyway. Also if someone's gets injured in the first few minutes he has to play the whole game anyway.

Stupid decision that cost us 4 points as he is our best ball winner and very clean which were the two things we needed in the first half.
No coincidence we out scored them by nearly 5 goals and dominated inside 50s when he was on.

The decision to play him as a sub simply has to be due to his lack of fitness/return from injury. Otherwise it is beyond ridiculous. Hopefully next week he plays a full game and Mundy is the sub.

Better to be overly cautious instead of reckless. He's our talisman, if he's up and running our team plays 10% taller (maybe not a good thing with our team currently!)

If he pulls up from this game with no problems you'd be expecting him to play a full game next week though.

Christ you would prefer the mark harvey approach? We want barlow back fully fit and not running himself into the ground too early.

Softy softy, barlow is a gun i'd rather have him easied in and play 22 games with a couple of subs than him spending 2 weeks off every couple of weeks

Silvagni, Barlow, start.

Anthony, Dawson out.

Mundy sub.

= we win.

From all evidence these guys have been ready and in full training for a while now, Barlow blitzed when he was sub last week, and no surprise he blitzed this week. No evidence that he should of been sub. and Mundy has been begging to play for weeks now, I can't see why they are delaying him, with no explanation. He seems baffled himself.

Silvagni is Dawson, except a better stopper, and cleaner with the ball without the brainfades (in this regard Silvs isn't a world beater, but still ahead of Dawson)

Pav is our forward line. without him, I doubt we would make finals at all. This obsession with him playing midfield is irritating, when the opposition have the ball, he is a liability. Pick either Anthony, or Bradley, and be done with it. 3 talls with Pav, Bradley, Clarke/Sandi is how it should be.

I get the feeling Lyon is being cute with his selections. Saying he wants to play all our rucks as once as well tells me he needs a bit of a reality check and this loss should be good for him.

To be blunt - you're a flaming nuffnuff if you are putting the 5 goal turnaround as being Barlow's doing. He's good - but he isn't whatever you've built him up as in your head.

Did you miss the structural changes?

His inclusion created these structural changes ie pav going forward and Ross being able to actually have people forward as we were winning the midfield. Also freed up Fyfe and Hill more as well.

Your a moron if you think Barlow doesn't have a huge influence on the game, smartest most prolific midfielder in our team. I cant prove it but am positive we win if he plays the whole game.

I've haven't built him up in my ahead, every game I've watched him play which is every one he has so far he has proven his worth. He has shown he will easily ave 25+ touches and a goal each game with a lot of clearances when fit and actually playing the whole game.

You are a clown if you rate any other docker more important bar maybe Sandilands but I'd still take Barlow first as Griff can fill the void to an extent but none of our other mids have the influence Mick does.

Assuming he pulls up ok, he should start next week. If we have no injuries, he might get subbed out at 3/4 time for his rehab. Will the coach get slayed then if the game is on the line?

It's a long season and we need him playing. I'd rather he is the sub for every game if it meant he could play 25 for the year (it'd give anything to play 25 though)

The way I see it if he's fit enough to play he should've played the whole game as he was the sub last week. There is no guarantee he will not get injured whilst on for a half anyway or that he will only play a half as an early injury would prevent this. I'm all for player welfare but at the end of the day we need wins and I don't think playing him longer would've been detrimental as he is a very fit bloke, but it would've helped us get the 4 pts no doubt.

All the commotion and somebody's having a go at Ross for starting Barlow as the sub? Something tells me he didn't come to the decision to make Barlow the sub by drawing straws.. He probably still can't run out the game with his leg soreness.

If the rest of the team hadn't decided to play like headless chooks with their wings stuck up their asses in the first half we wouldn't have needed Barlow to play the whole game to win.

I actually think SNOS is close to being a world beater.
He beat 'buddy' last year who is the best big forward on the planet.
SNOS beat the second best in the world last year too, brown.
He did a number on bazza as well. We've had 7 gls booted against us in the last two weeks that would not have happened if SNOS had played IMO.

Look saying that Barlow starting would have helped the dockers winning is pretty farfetched. The execution of simple skills as well as backing each other in the contested ball particularly at SCG was deplorable in the first half. IT wasn't just Barlow in the 2nd half that got the ball rolling, I thought Mzungu really worked hard to get in the match and Mayne was the only purple even chasing down the swans rebounding from defence. IF you want one player to have had to change the match it would be purely and simply Hayden Ballityne. Pressure was non existent for sydney carrying the ball from their half, really frustrating to see. Having the little number 1 would've have had a feistiness to the game. But onwards and upwards to Brisbane at Subi (thank god SCG is out of the way this year..)

Barlow so good he makes others play better an lifts the team.
What a load of crap

Yes hes very good
Reason we came back is the swans relaxed.

Our players would of had their heads ripped off at halftime by coach.
They came out an started going in harder at ball, instead of getting beaten to it by swans everytime.

They changed up the structures down forward, not allowing swans to have a spare man, which stopped them running it out of defense with numbers so easily.

But yeah its all due to barlow being out there, alot of the players who were terrible in 1st half lifted an put in a better 2nd half
