Injuries not good. We're down an important Cog in the midfield as well. Injuries to either side not good. Hard to read the impact of Cog's absence, been a long time since we played without him. Both of your risks have an obvious impact and hope they both make it.

Pretty certain he didn't play us round 1 last year due to form.

Anyway I'll give this a crack..

Carlton v Richmond - 23
Collingwood v Bulldogs - 33
St.Kilda v Melbourne - 16
Sydney v Port Adelaide - 20
Essendon v Hawthorn - 40
Gold Coast v Brisbane - 35
North Melbourne v West Coast - 3
Adelaide v GWS - 5
Fremantle v Geelong - 15.

I'd be very disappointed if this game only drew 25k, should be 40k if both fan bases are fair dinkum

Going by this thread the majority of people are thinking the same. Going by the amount of people tipping Carlton most think 50/50 game.

Though I personally think we should go in as favourites with a small possibility of an upset.
That's pretty much my thinking, my best mate is a Richmond fan and he said himself it would be so Richmond to have a decent pre-season then come out round 1 and choke against Carlton. You should be favorites, you should win the game but I can't not give Carlton a slight chance. Just one of those games

Sydney Swans by 19pts
Gold Coast by 11pts

I think we can almost double the figure for St Kilda vs Melbourne, I'd be shocked if that game doesn't draw at least 40,000.

I guess is resorts to this agenda Melbourne fans have against the stadium, i heard that unless its at the MCG they don't travel, what that all about?

Etihad has a strict no ski gear policy

If Melbourne fans can't travel 5km's down the road to Etihad for what is meant to be a huge year for them and arguably game of the round then I don't know what will get them there.

Gold Coast def Brisbane Lions by 40 pts ~ 12.5 K

Carlton Vs Richmond 9 pts 70k+
Expect it to be fairly close but Richmond to snag the lead late in the 3rd and hold on throughout the 4th

Collingwood Vs Western Bulldogs 10 pts 55k+
Think the extra weeks off during pre-season will help the Pies and the Dogs will take a few weeks to blow out the cobwebs

Sydney Vs Port Adelaide 25 pts 40K+
Sydney's class should get the job done without a huge amount of trouble

North Melbourne Vs West Coast 6 pts 22k+
Feel like the result could go either way but will be fairly close regardless, obviously have bias but I think people are vastly overrating the output of some of the delisted players (Boomer being an exception). If i'm wrong Petrie to kick a goal after the siren to give WC a 1 point win.

Gold Coast Vs Brisbane 30pts 18k+
Good signs from Brisbane in the JLT but I think Gold Coast with a good injury run will be very competitive this year and push for the 8, while the lions are obviously rebuilding

Essendon Vs Hawthorn 13 pts 70k+
I'll admit I dislike Essendon but even putting aside bias I can't realistically see how they win this game as the only reference I have to go off at the moment for Essendon are the JLT matches. Definitely not discounting the possibility that they could surprise me though.

Adelaide Vs GWS 20 pts 40k+
Adelaide come out firing and shock everybody with a clinical defeat of the premiership favourites. Bigfooty spends the entire week debating whether the predictions of a GWS dynasty were made too hastily. GWS then go on to be 10-2 on top of the ladder by the time the bye rolls around.

St Kilda Vs Melbourne 7 pts 33k+
Very close game but St Kilda with a late goal to put it just out of reach

Fremantle Vs Geelong 12 pts 38K
Resurgent Freo make amends for last years round 1 humiliation with a convincing win against Dangerfield & co.
