I have no idea what you're saying Fly but Dard had his posting privileges removed. Mowman has been permanently banned I'm pretty sure.
Sorry about that if correct.
I enjoyed both of their posting.
But I had no problem with Plugger66 either.

It’s really easy just to scroll past anyone you are not enjoying tbh.

Why? It is widely on record that Ross said when he'd come in, it would take a couple of years to have us in contention.

We overachieved last year in terms of results due to a kind draw, the sugar hit of a new coaching regime, fresh and enthusiastic forward line (Owens, Cordy, Pou and Hammer), plus the good form of Wood, Nas and Stocker and sides around us (Geelong, Suns, Dons, Freo, Dogs, even Carlton and Giants early doors having bad years.)

Think this year will get better anyway, but negative momentum is unfortunately just as powerful as positive momentum.
Well a couple of years is 2 I think (this is his 2nd yr)and it looks we will be in the bottom 4 of the ladder , even Richardson achieved better with a cooked list.

To me Jones and Phillipou were much better than Dow. Dow looks rusty so far and a long way off.
The key difference.. both Jones and Philipou are not genuine mids.. Dow is..

Dow was drafted as a inside mid with burst..

Jones is a half back in juniors who is tough, not a genuine mid, we tried, but the result is telling.. just shows it’s difficult to turn a flanker to a genuine mid, don’t know why sides keep doing it.. we tried with Billings, Acres, Mckenzie, Clark, Coffield.. :(

Philipou is a forward/mid, if he actually looked good in midfield, it may give me some more confidence.. but his stints there so far screams “getting lost, no impact”.. he calls himself a high impact per possession player, which translate to low numbers, but goals/assist, he is not even doing that at the moment.

What we need is mids that can win the ball first, then rack up possession at ease, bring in other teammates into the game.. not low possession long bomb sort of mids..

Last year made us feel like our fortunes had finally turned. It feels further away than under Ratts tight now. Lots of similar sides are moving past us while we've stalled again. Lots of the players that looked like a bright future have dropped away and confidence is waning.

I think having a bad year might be a god send long term but it's hard to stomach right now. The list needs more talent added to it and stars usually come from the top end of the draft.
Hard disagree.
The talent and (potential) talent are far better now than what we had with Ratts.
Lots of problems right now, but still early in RTBs tenure. I’m far more bullish about the direction we’re moving in than where we were.

A couple of years before, not within a couple of years.

Lyon is building for a sustainable future, Richo wasn't building anything

I didn’t realise that his second season was finished yet?
How about we judge how he’s going during next year after two completed seasons?

Spot on.
Got there before me, and said it better.

We were in his last year when he had injury issues but apart from holding back a deluge it isn't really that much better. We aren't being smashed but it's so hard to watch us at the moment. I actually feel repulsed by them. It's probably the worst I've ever seen the Saints play as far as attractive footy goes.

Wilson looks a jet but after getting excited by the last crop I'm trying not to get too excited to save my sanity.
You have a short memory:).. the days under Richo/Ratten were pretty dark… I clearly remember us spending 3 quarters defending in our defensive 50 because we couldn’t win the ball back, couldn’t transition the ball effectively either.. so just bombing it down the line just for it to rebound back with interest..

Can someone please succinctly clarify and positively confirm as this key information forms the basis of my 257 page dissertation concerning our drop off in form.
stavro#4 also appears to be noticeably absent…?

Crouch out really had a big impact.. he was the 1-2 punch with Steele.. now we just left with Steele..

Then the small forwards Butler and Higgins out also cost us games.. could have stolen 1-2 games by having them both.

We are not playing attractive style at the moment, that bit is true.. might be because our midfield is missing Crouch so we can hardly generate any drive / easy score from there, so have to play conservative

It must be remembered the 2 clubs Lyon coached had very good lists players - Hayes / Reiwoldt / etc , Fremantle - Fyfe / Pavalic / Neale - he came to the club knowing he was getting a developing list and Basset and the brains trust said they brought him in because he would get more out of the list - Ratten had us around 9th , Lyon did fantastic to get us 6th with a list hit by injury but this year just looking at the style of play now it about the worst I have seen for a hell of a long time and everyone on the team looks spent.

He might be a coach coach with a team of players that have already been developed but at this moment his playing style looks dated and he needs to do something because it's going to destroy any confidence we had built up.

It must be remembered Steele was awful last year and Crouch carried the load but we never had the one two punch last year and we still won games , the worrying thing is King has shown nothing under Lyon , Steele has been nowhere as good since Lyon arrived , Membery looks finished and in his 2nd year the youth that had started to show potential and now look spent.

I don't know what has happened but with the current list I feel Ratten would be getting more out of the squad , which Basset said Lyon would - what is Basset saying now , I don't want to hear bs excuses anymore.

I don’t think for one minute that the playing style that Ross is trying to implement is anything like what they’re serving up now.

The fast ball movement & swarming defence of the preseason & up until half time of the Essendope game is what he wants.

So when it doesn't work he needs to do something else - and our results have shown he has no answer - this is the problem

I noticed on my ticket this week it has my normal seating access along with Victory Room.
Last I checked the Victory Room was the Social club. I sure don't have a social club membership.
I wouldn't be calling it the victory room , the way are going - lose this week and the heat will really be on ---- if we get belted the media are going to have a field day.

Is there a graph for Jack Hayes?

Stavro has been absent IMO because others feel the need to chop his legs off whenever he posts.

Right or Wrong, his opinions are just as valid here, the calls to scroll past could also be used

Lack of leadership and motivation. We seem to be very easy to put off our game. Sydney play a similar style but have better players and they have a very high standard for effort that they expect the side to play to.

The Bulldogs game was weird because we knew that they were under pressure but failed to come in breathing fire. The Dogs kicked insanely accurately and that snuffed all our energy.

Lyon seems to have a very deliberate hold and surge game plan too. I think we failed to hold in the hold bits and by the time surge came the game was way out of our reach so just rolled over.

It will be interesting to see how we go with the pressure back our way.
Sydney are composed and very skilful, that’s why they’re so hard to beat.
