Seems crazy unless you have no options with baby sitters. They probably have to wear ear muffs to not get scared and aren’t going to get much out of it. Even 5-6 years old can struggle for more than a half and parents just give them the iPad or phone once they lose interest. Each to their own though.
Yeah, earmuffs always. But thing is, they’re not really any trouble when they’re that young. Largely content with being held and looking around, with grandparents sharing the holding “duties”. Probably need to give them a feed once and maybe change a nappy.

Teenage children require far more attention.

Frustratingly it's looking more and likely it will rain on Sunday.

On a cool note, we're taking our 1.5 year old daughter to her first ever game. Wish us luck here
My daughter was three the first time we took her. We were playing Carlton and we were sitting near where they were warming up. She was standing up on my lap when she suddenly yelled ‘Carlton sucks’. OMG I was soooo proud!!
💜🤩🥰

Taking kids to the footy is fun. You just need to keep them medicated with chippies, drinks, trips to the toilet and the best part - you get to have chippies and popcorn and hot chocolate too and then they ride their dad's shoulders on the walk to the train celebrating a win.

It's core memory stuff, indoctrinating them into purple team.

You do need hearing protection for them and keep an eye on boofheads with four beers to themselves trying to spill it on either you or the child but what is more important as a parent than taking a spilled beer to the dress for your child such that it soaks your soon to be chilly chest.

My daughters (now 31 and the little one above almost 27) are voraciously purple! They used to love rainy games most when they were kiddies, where they could have their hot chips under their ponchos keeping them warm, and then pop them up through the gap under their chin to eat them 🥰😂 (Must admit I did too ☺️)

It's win-win-win.

My child's first game was 2010 R3 v Geelong at Subi.

Down at 3QT to come back in the last. I missed the final 2 minutes because it was too exciting.

I hope we cruise to a comfortable 8 goal win for you.

My dad took me to Freo-Geelong at the WACA in 1995! I remember Wills kicking the sealer (I think), and a Willy Wagtail displaying to us on the boundary line, at night. Little dude... do keep an eye out for the ball!

Surely McDonald is not ahead of Davies in the key back pecking order by now right?

Davies one of the best key backs in the WAFL right now who we need to invest time (and job security) into as he might replace Pearce in 2028
I hope Davies is next man in. Much like with Sam Collins, he's clearly AFL standard and its a low-risk option for other teams to take a punt on a fringe KPD.

I remember as a toddler in the 70s going the the WAFL with my mum and I'd just be playing with my matchies in the dirt. Now she's granny and my kids have their chips and we all have a great time at the footy :thumbsu: Aussie footy culture is the best.
South Fremantle I would hope.;)

I didn't start taking my kids till they were six and half. Might have taken no.1 to that one off 'away' game to Gold Coast in 2018 (5 and half) now I think about it, but no issue with crowd noise there!

I looked at the training photos put up by the club yesterday and Davies looks like he has bulked up a bit. Looks stronger. Not a beast, but looks like a backman that can hold his against forwards.

Davies in and Brayshaw to skipper please. Caleb is too emotional, I prefer Brayshaw and his calm demeanour. Important to see where Davies is at. He is the future and not McDonald. 5 day break after this one so don't lose your shit if the boys just stay in 2nd gear and bank the points please.
