i dont quite get this bet yet. If i bet collingwood -18.5 what does this mean? or carlton +18.5 what does that mean?

If you take Collingwood -18.5, you're saying that Collingwood would still win, even after taking 18.5 off their final score.

In other words, Collingwood will win by 19 or more.

With Carlton at +18.5 you're saying that once the 18.5 gets added to Carlton's final score, it will be above Collingwoods score. So you're saying Collingwood by 18 or less, or a Carlton win.

Ive been trying to explain line betting to my mother for about three weeks. Im at my wits end, i might try your explanation but the poor old thing just ends up saying THIS IS STUPID IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE. haha
